How many NEW CL type-s were sold in 2001-2003?

Im just wondering how many 2001-2003 CL type-s units were sold ?
The reason I ask is because i do not see too many of them on the road in NJ some CL-P's from time to time but hardly any type-s models.
Of the new ones sold anyone know how many are still on the road?

They made 16000 2003's... 3511 were 6spd (type S) but no one has done the break down of the other CL's (CLS auto and CLP auto).

Honda never released sales info by type, just by model...

You will see more 01's. The number I heard was upwards of 25,000. 02's you will see less since they had a short production run from June/July 01-March 02 & didn't sell that well because of the many 01's produced.

So I guess the total production of 2nd Gen CL's is probably around 50K ??

See post #4 here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=sales

There's a link to a neat spreadsheet that Mike did ages ago... but there's no way to tell when the 1st gen CL's stopped selling and the 2nd gen CL started...

When I sold Acuras this is the number I heard as well. Only three years of production for the 2G CL.

not for 2003... only 16K CL's were built, which is why they discontinued the model:

Numbers on 03' Cl Type-S manual with nav?

The quantity must be less than the released 3500 or approximated 25k made that year.. Most I've found up for sale for awhile are the normal 6 speeds without nav. Anyone know of the number that came with the original nav?

This type of information is readily available in the Frequently Asked Questions section of the forum, rather than bumping an 11 year old thread.

With those numbers, it does beg the question: how many are still out there? I mean only 15 Taffetta White with black interior-Navi car were built!

I myself have always wondered what others would think about a 20 year reunion thread in general...

whitetiger5, I was thinking the same thing.

I am the first owner of a san merino red with ebony interior with 6 speed and non-navigation.

I found documentation of total US market CL sales figures which purport to be 6,877 for 2003 (and those subsequently sold in 2004 and as late as 2005). Given that this thread has established 3,511 of these units were 6spds, that's pretty much a 50/50 split for the 2003 model run.
Interestingly I found one in Montreal at a leasing company with only 23,750 km (14,750 mi) on it for sale.

Cool. That is one all-dressed Acura.
As of this week I'm a new owner of Taffeta White w/Parchment, 6SPD, non-Navi, only 63,000 miles. It's sitting beside my Nighthawk Black 2002 TL Type S with 245,000 mi (on its third automatic transmission). I'm the original owner of the TL, and frankly I'm surprised at how different the CLS-6 feels, while the dash is still looking completely familiar. The sightlines on the CLS-6 are much better. However, the TL-S has a subwoofer that the CL's never came with.

Second thought, there were 12,072 CL's sold in 2002, and considering some of them would have been 2003 models (my early 2003 was delivered to the original owner in early Oct 2002), it is a better guess that the total build of 2003's is in the range of 12,500 units—of which 3511 were manual transmissions.
