How many hours for timing belt change?
Looking to do the job myself. How long did everyone take to do theirs? Another thread only mentioned the most difficult part being the cover.

It should take an experienced tech about 1 to 1.5 hours to replace a timing belt. By the book it says 4.3 hours. If you haven't done one before, expect it to take 6 hours, potentially longer.
Remember to replace the water pump and water pump seal while you're in there too. It's cheap enough and you don't want to have to pull everything back apart if it starts leaking.

I agree with Weez. 5-6 hrs and some bandaids for scraped knuckles
Crank pully bolt may be a bear to get off so unless you have a bad assed 1/2" impact you might consider a harbor freight 3/4" breaker bar with some extentions and 19mm socket. Also, get the oil dipstick out first to aid with removal of timing belt covers(plug the dipstick hole with something.... when you loosen the water pump antifreeze will pour out into it otherwise).
Good luck

You can google the starter method if the crank bolt gives you trouble.
