2001 CL
bought it march 31st 2000.
been a member of acura-cl since the biggining.
On my 3rd tranny, 1st went at 40k 2nd went at 99k w/ a little help from me.. hey my warrenty was about to end and my tranny was slippin a little so I help it go.
actulater went once.
Headlight got stolen once.
I have 100k right now and am gonna keep it for at least anouther 2 years since i got a new tranny.

since november 04. bought it with 70k miles. now has 129k. original tranny. no problems other than i'm on my third set of rotors now. maintenance is the only thing i have spent money on so far.

April 2004 with 40K miles bought used certified from Cush Acura in San Diego.
April 2006 now 76K miles.

The cd player had a cd stuck in it. Cush ordered an entire new unit. "Unit" being radio/cassett/cd the whole shebang. Props to Cush, they have been nothing but helpful and courteous the entire time.

Rotors warped last month and i did the Rotora/Axxis/SS lines thing. Working great.

Thats it, literally no other probs.
This board rocks and gave the tips on maintainence, ie Jens Tranny Flush DIY and break and radiator fluid replacement.

Issues:
Replaced headlight fixture (bad ballast) - 2004 = no questions asked
Replaced other headlight fixture and bulb because colors didn't match - 2004 = no questions asked
Replaced door arm rests for peeling away - 2004 & 2005 = no questions asked
Replaced dash cover - 2005 = no questions asked
Replaced passenger side visor - 2005 = no questions asked
Replaced clutch - 2006 = would not warranty and refused to even goodwill part of it
Soon: passenger side headlight went out again; hood struts are shot; door panel armrests starting to peel away again; parking brake needs adjustment; brakes starting to squeek

EDIT: parking brake connector reconnected @ under 100 miles (memoryseats don't work unless the computer "sees" the parking brake on)
Replaced drivers side lower control arm @ 7500 miles
Replaced passenger side lower control arm and parking brake adjustment @ 15000 miles
Brakes redone @ 22.5K miles (rear pads wore out because the tech didn't check to see if the rear were dragging after parking brake adjustment, tho' I was offically told it was due to "rust" , haven't been back to that dealer since)
EDIT: sunroof rattle done, and tensioner recall done, sometime in there too..

GSR, just curious as to what was wrong w/ your dash cover ?? I've got a slight gap above the center vent, that's been bugging me lately

Bought mine with 34K, March 2004. It just ticked over 75K today. I'm on my second tranny. Only other problem was warped rotors that went awwy when I swapped them for Rotora slotted.

Porbably only going to keep it for a couple more months. I need 4 doors.

owned my 01 CL-S since Sept. 2004. Had 55K miles on it. Now has 67K miles. Still on 1st tranny. *knock on wood*

Only problem I've had was the throttle body sticking when I came to a stop. Fixed that by cleaning it (also installed Thermoblock while I was in there.)

Only real problem was a noisy alternator belt tensioner pulley--$150
Tranny fluid changed and looked dirty after 1 year but since then looks good and no problem.
Safety belt was replaced under warranty as it was frayed.
Remarkably trouble free. So far so good.

Green, there was clear separation between the dash and vents at the base of the windshield...I could see the yellow spongy foam. It looked like it was warping to something.

Thanks, mine is at the other end, where the dash cover meets the instrument panel. It's actually not that bad, but I'm probably going to mention it when I take it in for service/warranty work (45K is due, I'm at 46K ).

Oh yea!! Had a meet yesterday and followed 2 other CL's from Ft. Worth to Dallas and not only is it an amazing engine, paired up with exhaust or not it sounds like nothing else on the road!!! Beautiful engine/exhaust sound! I know you've commented on the engine sounds before steve!

I've owned my CL for about 18 months and 25,000 miles. Only a few things like a small rip in a seat which was replaced under warranty and a bit of chrome flaking off a door lock, also replaced under warranty. And the rotors warped TWICE! Replaced under warranty.

got my 2003 cls in december 05 with 22 thousand miles.. got 24 now. Did 35% tints on the sides and 20% in the rear. Tinted top of the taillights. Pioneer D1 navigation system and external dvd player. happy to say no huge problems yet and my acura dealership has been very good with everything so far.

i bought my '03 SSM CL-S 6speed last april with 49k miles on it. It was my daily driver from that point until early november when i bought my 99 legacy. My CL now has around 76k miles on it (100 miles/day to work adds up quick). The only problem that I've had with it is the rear view mirror, but i think it was broken when i bought it. I bought a new one off ebay, installed it myself and haven't had a problem since. I don't anticipate any problems either, especially with my mods, i think i'll be in good shape for a while. I'll be gettin all my belts replaced soon (when I install my UR pulleys) and I should be good to go. I definitely don't have any complaints about this car.

How did you "help" it along? A little bird, errrr friend...well someone has a 99k 2001 that I know and would be most interested. His car has had 4 total installed and this one is on the way.

-> clock dash light went out but I fixed it myself using a DIY through acurazine

Driver's side power seat stopped working.
Sunroof creaking.
Handbrake got loose.

That's about it. It's been the best car I've owned.

'01 CL-S, bought new 6/00, now 95K, original tranny...

rotors warped twice, turned once, replaced once (both warranty), shaking a little now.

rearview dimmer crapped out (warranty, but a pain to get them to replace it)

headlights stolen '00, L ballast toasted '04 (no warranty)

a myriad of f'd up OEM michelins w/sidewall bubbles, no problems w/replacement Contis

some trivial interior problems -- exposed foam on driver door pull, flaking chrome on inner door handle (sharp!), squeaky/rattling sunroof, a little leather cracking.

all in all pretty damn good. gonna keep it till it blows up.

01 CL-S bought brand new in Nov. 2000....138k miles...3rd tranny....

1st dead at 38k
2nd dead at 96k
3rd feels good....

SRS light constantly on....dealer can screw himself....Gaps starting to appear from glues getting old...will have to re-glue....NAVI seems slower after the upgraded disc....

I dont feel as bad anymore...the car feels strong and still shifts good....im keeping this baby...cuz i will get raped if i sell it...

'01 CL-S bought dealer demo car with approx 2500 miles in 7/01, currently 52,000 miles original tranny. Cd changer was replaced within one month of purchase under warranty. It seems like we all have the squeaky sunroof. No other problems with factory equip.

Only problem I have had was a bad ground on the bose amp........Amp was replaced.

Bought in April, 2003, even though car was released in August 2002. Black, CL Type-S, 6-speed stick. Bought used with 10,000 miles on it.
Today, 46,000+ miles

Under warranty, I have had the following work done:
CD Changer/Radios replaced 3 times (they keep eating my CDs)
Right head-light unit replaced (water inside)
Center console lathes replaced (the center console popped open over any bump)
Paint touch-up near my read license plate frame

Not under warranty
I am on my 3rd set of tires. This car eats tires for breakfast, and I am trying to find the right ones for this car. Currently have Pirelli PZero Nero 235/45/17. Previously had Yokohama's Avid V4S at OEM size.
Front brakes re-done.
Wheel alignment
Etc.

Current problems: Thing rattles like crazy - 1 in the front right dashboard, other coming from back.
Severe front end shaking from slowing down at about 30-40mph, been told my brakes are fine.


A very reliable car over all.
