Hit a parked car (estimate damage help)
I hit a parked car when pulling in, underestimated the turning radius cuz i was thinking of other things and was tired. It was an older civic and the bumper needs to be replaced. Im guessing what $250-$300 for a painted bumper installed from a body shop for that? Also can he involve insurance since he didnt call the police and no report was given.
For me the right side of my car is not dinged or dented but rather scratched up pretty badly, how much would it cost to get someone to blend the paint, and how much if I just wanted the entire front bumper repainted the nighthawk black pearl. Thanks!

Well I backed up into some piece of shit 70's car where there was already chipping paint and it was cracked everywhere and I hit it at like 2 mph, literally, left nothing and no damage and yet he claimed my insurance for a new bumper which ran me $749. Life just fucks you sometimes...

<climbs up on soapbox> Like it or not, with actions, come responsibilities. Put yourself in the other guys shoes, and think about how you would respond to a hit and run driver. I know, because it happened to me. <climbs down from soapbox>
I don't know about the insurance regs in your state, but I've been told in PA, any actual payment by an insurance company under $1,000 can not, by law, cause an increase in your insurance premium. YMMV
Hope this helps,
Brian

Call a junk yard, find the guy a cheap bumper, have it painted at macco and put it on for him. I'd guess you'd be in that around $200 or less. My $.02.

You guys are right, you should be responsible if you fuck someones car up, but what i am trying to say is, i wouldnt give them the opprotunity to screw me. Id leave a number and name on a note on the car and offer to fix the damage. I would rather pay out of pocket then let them report it to their or my insurance.
Hell, just the other day someone open their car door into my rear 1/4 panel. I was soooo pissed and of course it took off paint so i cant do paintless dent removal...

pm me year make and model and I can write a est for bumper replacement that I would pay with ABQ, NM labor rates if you like. I would guess 500-800 depending on A/M bumpers available and if the absorber or any other crap got hit too
I work for an insurance company and write estimates all the time.
