HEPA cabin filter -no such thing? Also carbon...

HEPAs and charcoal a scam?
To be sure, installing a new cabin air filter is going to provide much cleaner air. But if you are shelling out bucks for a "HEPA" or the less expensive one but expecting to have purchased a carbon coating....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"To clarify, there are no HEPA level efficiency cabin air filters. HEPA media would be too restrictive for an automotive HVAC system and the resulting pressure drop would be unacceptable.

No charcoal in our particle filters. (NHBlue here, this includes the Purolator # C15390 and Fram item # CF8603 )

We manufacture the filters here in Hopkinsville, KY
micronAir is a Freudenberg Nonwoven registered brand
Thank you for your interest in our product"

1. So why does the site list
High Efficiency Particulate Filter with Activated Charcol -is this just a play on words to end up with the acronymn HEPA?

Reference # HN98104C
OEM 80291S84A01204381HAS8A40
$58.24

2. High Efficiency Particulate Filter
Reference # HN98104P
OEM 80291S84A01204381HAS8A40
Fram item # CF8603
Purolator # C15390
-has no charcoal according to rep. So why does the moonlight mech, Fram, Purolator sites write up this 2nd lower priced one as having a carbon coat?

Mods i thought this would merit a seperate thread.
