Along slightly differnt lines, the Japanese often name their JDM cars differently:
NAM -> JDM
Avalon (current) = Pronard
There is also a minivan called the Liteace Noah. (???)
A station wagon based on the Skyline GT-R is known as the Stangea. I guess owning a Stang' in Japan might not be such a bad thing.
(The Japanese general public don't seem to like alpha-numeric nomenclature as much as they like American/European-ish "words." If they had just stuck to letters, numbers, and even Kanji, they wouldn't have the linguistic grace of the "Pronard" moniker. )
There's loads more, I just can't think of any more right now.

Imagine the conversations that could happen:
A: "Hey B, how do you like your Dude?"
B: "Well, my Dude is kind of a squeeze to get in and out of, so at this point I want the Esprite Off-Roader 4X4 Potential."
A: "Why? Besides being too tight, didn't the Dude have the off-road potential as-is? I think you should just learn to live with it, as I did w/my Lizza Cha Cha."
B: "Wuh? What does your personal life have to do with w/my Dude? Uncomfortably tight, I tell ya. Not feeling the overall pleasure of the Every Joy Pop I used to have."
A: "Are we still talking about cars?? My wife bought a Roulette Turbo Cappacino today. She's amped."
B: "Lizza Cha Cha?"
A: "No, that's for me."
B: "Are you still talking about cars??"
