these are made by a company called tecnocraft and they claim the technical weight is about 7-8 pounds each... the rear seats are 6 pounds together... but only for GT-R and kinda pricey

If only they werent so damn expensive.

Another problem with the NSX seats is they flip forward to allow rear seat access.

That part doesn't matter as long you get the tracks it comes with.

I agree I'm just short of 6'2 and I adjusted the seat all the way down and there is a lot of headroom so I can't figure out why people are saying they are to high unless they just don't know how to adjust the seats correctly.

Some people are taller in the torso than legs and vice versa. Im 6'5 and i fit in the 2gtl but barely. I cant drive teh car without a hat or my hair touching bothers me. I have to have the seat reclined slightly and raked. I have a friend who is 6'2 and in order for him to fit it looks like he is laying down. He has another 15deg angle over my seat. Im all legs and he has a larger upper torso. If these cars came without a moon roof i would fit in the driving position i would like.

How does that allow access to the rear seats? The tracks from the NSX dont move the seat all the way up. There is no quick release for them either. And putting the NSX seats on the CL tracks wont help either because the back still doesnt flip forward.

definitely... but it would suck without the hole up there

nsx seats ftw unless you find some cheaper sparco's or recaro's

someone was mentioning corrado seats.... back in the 90's in europe there was another car that was winning the seat contest from the same group... but i dont think they sold them here
1991 Audi s2 coupe quattro

i have a friend of mine that had one but they were all black leather/alcantara not like these in the picture ... amazing - like most products recaro makes

has anyone actually weighed the cl front seats with the rails etc all included? Only thing i read on here was something around 60 lbs. On club rsx they say that their front seats weigh roughly 50 lbs. I would think from looking at both seats that the difference has to be more than 10 lbs. Anyone know for sure I am thinking of picking up a nice clean cheap set of 06 rsx seats. The leather on the 05 and 06 rsx seats looks so much nicer than the 02-04 year leather.

I actually took my passenger seat out yesterday.
The front passenger seat weighs 55-60.
It was hard to get a good reading.
I think the driver's side is a little heavier.

2 after market seats will weigh about as much as just the drivers seat.
I was looking at seats last night because after going for a ride without the seat the car feels noticably quicker.

Not worth it. Just get some racing seats or if you have the cash S2000 seats. But the S2k seats are still a bit heavy.

s2k seats are too expensive. Im gonna try to pick up these rsx seats and get the rsx rails to fit in my car. Will let you know how it goes if i get the seats. Racing seats would be nice, but then id need to get 4 point harness and get a bar or roll cage welded in. I would rather just find lighter seats that i can use the stock seat belt on.

You dont need to get a harness and roll cage. Id suggest it with a fixed seat, but with a reclining bucket you can use the regular seat belt. They wont be as light as the racing buckets, but it should work.

I forget if this was already covered, but do the RSX seats have side airbags?

EDIT - A quick search proved that they do. The RSX also uses dual stage airbags, but Im not sure if that affects the side airbags.

rsx seats do have side airbags, well atleast my friends does. I dont remember what year it is.... But he said he was willing to trade my seats for his with extra cash on my side. It would be nice if this was a direct swap. Has anyone done this before?

i dont think rsx seats are a direct swap.

Only the front airbags are dual stage as far as my knowledge goes, atleast in all 01-03 CLs. I've never looked at the harness of the rsx seat, so I cant tell.

Once i'm done with the motor swap, this will be the next task.

Definitely not a direct swap. And to clarify what nspec said - only the 03 CLs have dual stage airbags. The 01-02s are single.

does anyone kno the distance between the cl seat rails. I have the numbers for the rsx seats if we can try to match them up. RSX seat rails are 14.75" apart in front and 16" apart in rear. I dont have the length measurement tho.

No. Most of the weight is from just the seat itself. About 1/3 comes from all the motors in it.

I measured them not too long ago. It was just a rough measure and i didnt write down the numbers, but from the top of my head, they were 20",17.5",17" and 15"
There might be a slight chance they're close, but i doubt it.
You will have to use CL brackets.

I pulled my driver's seat last week cause I got annoyed with it rocking back every time I sat down in it (bought the car with 98k on it so not surprised).

Took the whole bottom cushion apart from it along with the wiring harness. Then I removed the lower right-side frame rail and adjustment mechanism. To the points in this thread - basically it's a heavy mofo - most of it from the multi-way adjustment mechanism in the base (two heavy motors plus linkage) and the rear lumbar/airbag assembly. Plus its just a big and thick seat!

I wanted to alert anyone concerned with a driver's seatback that seems to be rocking back and forth. This is caused by a horribly under engineered pivot-rivet that cannot be easily fixed and will continue to loosen over time.

If you're lower seat portion seems to be rocking by the lower-left knee/thigh, this is caused by a linkage bolt on the front lift adjuster that needs tightening.

As far as dropping in another seat, you will need to do some mount work.

i was at the junk yard today and put both seats together to compare.

the airbags will plug right in but i'm not sure if it will throw any code. i dont think it should.

the rails and holes are way off so we will definitely have use the CL brackets.

Bags should be good if the yellow plug fits. Just be sure to disconnect the battery before removing the seat or you will get an SRS light afterwards.

Looking forward to seeing a seat mod.

I ended up winning an ebay auction i was watching for a set of 06 rsx seats. These are the best condition rsx seats i have seen yet and since im a perfectionist i really wanted this set. Here is the link so you can see pics and what i paid. DO you think i got a good deal or overpaid? It comes with the airbags, rails-brackets, and seat belt connection. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

Scroll down to the picture on the bottom of the listing where it says supersized image, click that and you will be taken to 24 close up pictures of the seats including seat and rail measurements.
These seats will be shipping out today. Once i get them i will have to see what kind of modifying i need to do and go from there(wonder if ill end up using the rsx or cl rails). I will keep everyone posted on this project should be fun.

Here is the link to the seat pics incase the other link dsnt work. http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/...0,0,0&format=0

btw i like the leather much more on the 05-06 rsx seats versus the 02-04.

Decent price, but they have a shit load of armor all on them. You can see in one of the pics that the driver side lower bolster is a bit worn too. But no cracks or rips, and thats a good thing.

Let us know if they can fit properly. Id love to get them.
