Engine misfiring after repaint

Engine misfiring after repaint
In the process of restoring my 01 CLs Auto I had the body work and repaint completed today at a shop I've done a good deal of business with. The exterior came out perfect and looks brand new. Upon leaving the shop however I immediately noted engine misfiring and upon making it home touched base with the shop owner who assured me "nothing out of the ordinary occurred"........He also attempted to sell me a series of bridges at a tremendous price that lead directly to Key West......
Opening the hood I noted water had pooled on the intake manifold creases and inside the air cleaner assembly. I can only assume the tech ran a pressure washer during the paint removal process.
Running an OBD scan it revealed multiple misfire codes....duh. My guess is some sensors and perhaps the injectors took a bath and some moisture might have gotten in the coil packs. This is a best case scenario as I've read reviews on the shop and the techs sometimes take the cars out for joyrides.
Any suggestions?? My CL has always run like a top and this is very frustrating....

Not sure if it will work; but, you could get a can of CRC QD Electronic Cleaner, at the local Advance/Autozone et al, and spray the coil pack connections and any other relevant electric connections, like on the TB and/or TCS, to make sure they are free of debris/water.
Just make sure you give the connections time to dry before reenergizing. The Electronic Cleaner dries real quick but may pool so be careful. In addition, the cleaner tends to strip away any 'lube' that may be present to facilitate easy movement or enhance conductivity.

I pulled the spark plugs today and the number two cylinder plug looked bad. Put in a fresh set of NGK's and that fixed the issue. My guess is those bozos who prepped the car for paint got some water in the intake and it fouled the plug.
