Does your car roll back or move slightly after you park?
Sorry, didn't feel like looking this up but I've had my 2nd tranny for bout 35K now and whenever I put the thing in park and turn off the engine, it moves or rolls back slightly (maybe 1 or 2 inches). Is my tranny showing signs of wear?

That happens with every car normally. THe car is rolling back until it hits the trans lock, stopping the car from rolling back any further.
I normally put the parking brake down before putting it in park as to prevent this from happening. Prevents it from resting against the lock, and its added saftey to keep the car from rolling. Your car should be fine if you don't though. Most people never park like this anyways.
The short answer, no, your tranny is fine.

Thanks mclaren for clarifying that. It's just weird cuz it doesn't happen all the time. SO i guess when it moves like that, it's just trying to find it's resting place. Sounds good then, 30K+ on this 2nd tranny and so far no problems.

my mom's mdx does it on an incline.... but more so than most cars. it gives a good roll before it jolts to a stop. just ease off the brake slowly after you have it in park till you feel that its stopped, and/or use the emergency brake, thats what its for.

Whenever I am even slightly parked on an incline, I put my car in neutral, push in the e-brake, take my foot off the brake pedal, let it roll however far it needs to catch on the e-brake, then put it in park. I hate that sound when the car rolls slightly and catches on the parking brake... makes me cringe.

does this. I had a Lexus prior and maybe there was a tiny little mili-bounce when I parked, but this is totally different. It feels like a good few inches. It is a totally uneasy feeling as someone said. How is this normal?
