Does the 03 CLS play CD-RWs ?

As the title says, I'm wondering if the 03 CL-S stock headunit plays CD-RWs ?

I just tried in my mom's 03 TL (non Type S) and it doesn't, gives error code!

Then perhaps it's the media that's at fault. I think the disc I tried is probably a decade old - when CD-RW's were 5$ a pop!

I've had problems with certain brands of CD-RWs although I can't remember what brands they were. It's a crap shoot, I usually just buy the 100 pack of CD-Rs from office depot for 25 bucks and throw'em out when I'm sick of them.

Burning them too fast will cause them not to play in our CD players.

If there are stratches on the CD-RW the head unit will throw an error code.

It happened to me the other day... so I burnt a CD-R and it works fine.

Too dark won't work...

The darker the media, the less reflection you're going to get and thus, less playback if any.

So, go with the highest reflective media...stay away from generics!!!

I would stick with TDK, Sony or Maxell. And the black "vinyl" discs they have sometimes work and sometimes don't...our cars audio system is picky...I have the same issue with my home theatre and radio in the bathroom.
