Honda Accord V6 6 Speed Transmission Question

Right now I have a 2003 CL 6 speed manual transmission. It needs to be rebuilt. Don't want to rebuild it yet out of cash so I found some cheap accord 6 speed transmissions at the junk but before I buy it. I read in the past that the accord shifters are reversed because its in the opposite position or somehting? or are the shifters the same and plug and play with the CL linkage. I might of been reading about the TL 6 speed transmission. So to sum it up will the accord transmission work with the CL shift linkage.

It is my understanding the Accord V6 6-Speed manuals and the CL/TL 6-Speed manuals are interchangeable from the perspective of bolting in and connecting the linkages. That said, the Accord V6 6-Speed manuals do NOT have the Limited Slip Differential which is built into the CL/TL transmissions.

Regarding the whole reversed shifter thing; that only applies only to the 4-Cylinder manual transmissions from the Gen 6 and earlier Accords.

I found the site I was looking at. its the 6 speed obsession thread. On the main page it says you can use an accord or 4G TL transmission but have to weld a stud. They say they;ll get into that later but theres nothing else on the page.

i dont think that accord trans has provisions for the flywheel crank sensor.

Cheap + Accord 6 speed transmission = 03-07 Accord 100%.

I've seen them for as low as $150..

As for what your trying to do, your gonna lose LSD & as mentioned above, the Accord trans doesn't have the flyheel sensor.

Revival time. Is there a happy update for this? Is it possible to correct the Accord's lack of LSD and sensor? Basically, can one make it operate (almost) exactly like the CL-S' original trans? Apologies if those are silly questions, I am not at all familiar with transmissions, let alone swaps and all their intricacies.

My understanding is there is no way to retrofit LSD to an Accord 6-Speed (although I suppose it might be mechanically possible to swap the LSD out of a CL/TL transmission; don't know for sure as I've never pulled the two units apart).

A very quick analysis, based on the info provided by teh CL above, of the final drive gear; differential bearings; countershaft and main shaft between the 2003 V6 Accord manual transmission and the 2003 CLS6 reveals that they both share the same part #'s.

So, theoretically, if you bought the CLS6 LSD on the link below:
https://acurazine.com/forums/market/968666

Purchased or already have the CLS6 Clutch housing case #1 on the link below:
https://www.oemacuraparts.com/auto-p...h-housing-scat

Purchase or already have the tranny side crank sensor #13 on the link below:
https://www.oemacuraparts.com/auto-p...h-release-scat

And if you have a capable Acura/Honda manual transmission mechanic who can tear both transmissions apart and reassemble the Accord 6-speed with the CLS6 parts above you should have an 03 honda Accord V6 manual transmission with LSD.

Pretty much confirming what I was alluding to in my previous post. Thanks for the data.

In the interest of clarification and making this thread as accurate as possible, .

If your intent is to just get the CLS6 LSD benefits in your Honda Accord 6-speed car, then you would not 'swap' the Accord Shift Lever, #3 on the link below, or CLS6 clutch case to keep it compatable with the Accord shift linkage.

https://www.oemacuraparts.com/auto-p...ft-arm-v6-scat

If your intent was to purchase a cheap Honda Accord '03-'07 6-speed to replace a 'blown' '03 CLS6 scarce/expensive transmission with the desire to have the benefits of the LSD, along with the CLS6 clutch case you would either need to 'swap' the CLS6 Shift Lever, #3 on the link below, or weld a pin onto the Accord Shift Lever to make it compatable with the CLS6 shift linkage. The 'pin' locations of the Shift Levers are different between the two makes/models, as the links show.
