D3 baby

Well I've been fooling around with what gear is beast and except for the gas burning I like D3 after all it keeps then engine where I think it should in the 3k range. I don't think there would be any problem with this as long as I don't run in the 4-5k range for extend amounts of time but is this goon for the engine how much more wear does 3k do then the regular say 1.5k (teice as much or is there something weird)

Doesn’t it sound like a 4-cylinder wishing it had a higher gear to shift into ????

Hell I like the sound there and my dad who owned a BMW 318 for 11 years borrowed the CL-S and said that is where he kept and actually it sounds pretty nice and trottle responce is pretty good too no down shift just punch it and go

I might be stating the obvious but I would have to imagine gas mileage is going to suffer quite a bit leaving it in D3.

you won't have more wear running at 3000. 4 cylinders and many 6 cylinders run regulary in the 3000-4000 rpm range. but yeah, gas mileage won't be as high.
