Clutchmasters vs AASCO Flywheel
It is largely assumed that the CM and AASCO flywheels are the same, but I confirmed it by looking today. Comparing my dinged up AASCO on the left with the CM on the right, they are identical with the same part numbers.

Clutchmasters bought branded AASCO flywheels and machined off the AASCO logo lol. |

Nice catch. lol, when one looks at the FX400: 08028-HDC6-A single disc clutch kit on their website, first thing that comes to mind is - Is that an AASCO flywheel?? That second set of numbers under the AASCO part # may be a 'date code'? Just an FYI, if you are not aware already:), is that AASCO, according to fsttyms1 (post #8 & #9 on thread below), has a service that 'rebuilds' their LWFW's. https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...ed-ecu-949666/ |

Someone pointed out this thread to me. By the date codes it appears years ago CM was reselling AASCO parts.
Oddly, the CM flywheels don't even look the same anymore. The last two I got where black aluminum and had no etching on the back. With use, the friction material looses the dark tint.

I've had intermittent problems with starting when using their light flywheel and was actually considering getting AASCO. I've now gone so far as trying to shim the back in an effort to push the flywheel slightly outward. |
