Cl calipers

Hey Acura people! So I've heard there is an adapter to mount acura RL calipers on a CL. But its really hard to find RL calipers, plus they cost around $250 each. Was wondering if it was possible to mount for ex. 04-08 TL calipers on a 01-03 CL? I could get both front calipers for the same price as 1 RL caliper.

Even for non-Brembo Owners to install the Brembo brakes from the Type S or 6MT TL, they have to replace the entire spindle.

One of my good friends mods them to fit a variety of honda/acura vehicles. If he had started it before i got my RL's, I would definitely have them on my cl. Does awesome work.

I wonder how they are modded?...I have 2 sets of brembos here...I was thinking of shaving 1/2 inch off the mounting ears to get the back spacing correct but I am concerned that the newly modified mounting ears would not be strong enough as it is just aluminum....I know in practice it would 'work' but....

Why don't you just drill out the knuckle like the guide from Thoiboi's link? Seems easier and cheaper then replacing the knuckle and dealing with lower control arm and tie rod changes.

just ordered a pair of s2000 rotors....see how it all fits up when they arrive...wheel choice might be a tad difficult

the s2000 rotor trick does seem to work...proper back space on the rotor and the calipers bolt right up (after you bore out caliper bolt hole a bit)....unfortunately for myself-to find a wheel to fit over this set-up is going to prove difficult...the stock tl wheels used over these calipers do not fit...also have a couple sets of aftyermarkets that will fit the tl with brembos-do not fit the cl set-up...spacers are going to be required but for myself that will not work...I cant trust wheel studs/bearings in our endurance car with a 1/2" spacer...also throws our scrub radius out by pushing the wheels too far out....anyone need a set of brand new centric s2000 rotors cheap?....back to the drawing board....looks like it will be old legend dual pistons or nothing.

can you point me in the right direction on this Brian?...what did you do?...I know I can get the modified calipers if I want to fork out $$...I don't really want to start modding my control arms to accomodate the tl ball joint....I was thinking of shaving 1/2 of the thickness off the tl mounting ears but the aluminum housings might not have the strength needed after that.

I bought stoptech BBK listed for 3rd Gen tl/tsx. Did not know if it would fit when purchased, but it bolted right up, no mods needed besides ditching dust covers. Maybe this helps, maybe not. Most Honda brakes are interchangeable.

appreciate the input...nice to know about that option...a fair bit more than we are looking to spend on our car...we will only do 4 race weekends this year and will probably get 3 from 1 set of pads...it has no problem in actual stopping power it just kills rotors...it will just require a new set of rotors each day-and I can buy alot of rotors for what this kit costs...I actually have a cl knuckle out at a welding shop to see how good their cast iron welding is...snip off the stock mounting ears and move them 1/2 inward and then I can get the clearance at vitually no cost...not sure if it will work or not yet
