Cherish your CL

it's been 2 months since i sold my CL-S and i still miss it. enjoy these moments guys, the CL is a special car that only other CL owners can identify with. had it for over 8 great years. i am enjoying the new car (an Accord coupe 6-6), but my CL will always have my heart.

i also still have some parts from the CL. some new that never got installed, and some used so check for a thread in the black market soon.

drive safe fellas and thx to those who have helped out along the way

i think it was about 1.75" in front and about 1.5" in the rear. there was 2 versions made (2 different part #'s). the first version had a bit of rear sag. i believe they corrected it with the second version

mine had the rear sag, but also had subs in the trunk

Thanks

That's why I haven't seen you learking as much on here as I used to, used to see your comment on lots of threads on here. Nice X-CL, how does the new accords compare to the CL? Whats the pros/cons?

thanks Andrew. you're right though, a winter beater would've def helped keep the CL younger longer, and i thought of keeping the CL as a second or beater car, but i have no where to park it. i'd get killed with parking tickets if i parked it on the street

hey man, it's good to hear from you again. ya, i've lurked here and there, but haven't been into modding like i use to...gotta spend the extra cash on other stuff now.

the Accord is pretty nice. compared to the CL, it's very similar actually. 1st thing i noticed is how much bigger it is than the CL. it also feels quicker and has a lot more torque, but i miss the 'driving experience' the CL has.

pro's:

-accord is more roomier
-feels more solid on the road or highway at higher speeds
-interior is a lot nicer then the CL
-gas mileage is a lot better
-the higher torque feels good
-navi is easy to use, xm radio and factory system is better than i was expecting

con's:

-CL rear end looked amazing
-better driving feel w/ the CL. just felt more sportier
-not as rare as the CL. see a few accords daily
-the accord is missing things the CL came with like HID's, side mirror tilt when in reverse, power passenger seat, fold down arm rest in the back seat

lol, i did pass on those rims.

i'll probably end up getting a set of Vossen's

and the shifter was weird at first. i still have the TL knob from the CL. might see if it fits, but i have gotten use to it now

Glad I kept mine lol. I like the style/stance of the Accord but it doesn't have the soul the CL has. The interior like you said is nice though.

I was undecided on getting a new car (life is great without payments); It was either that or go boost...

The car is a different animal under F/I... more like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Whine

Hmm interesting. I always said that the 05-08 RL would be my replacement if something happened to the CL. But then again I haven't driven it yet.

IMO the pre-MMC RLs are great looking and have an amazing interior, but they are a very boring drive.

Agreed, great car for a family cruiser but the lack of a 3rd pedal was something I missed. That and all the 60 year olds driving the RL was making me feel even older than I am

i really like the RL's too, but i still can't bring myself to buy an auto car. now if it came with a clutch,

Also, i put up an FS thread in the black market with a few parts.

-Ground wire kit
-IAC valve
-Ball joints
-Coil pack
-Spark plugs

(all new)

I already only have 2 pedals in the CL so that doesn't bother me. I just want to try out that SH-AWD and laser cruise control. I drive like a 60 year old anyways.

Seen this Accord in person it's so mint. The 8th gen 6-6 coupes are pretty much modern CL's. Throw some Vossen's on that and stance it out like this:

Ouff

I came from a 2G RL before I got my 370Z and then CL-S.

It is a good car and SH-AWD really works. The car feels smaller than it really is. I didn't have the A-Spec suspension so it was a bit soft. The main problem is that SH-AWD robs power through a lot of drivetrain loss. You had to run the engine pretty hard just to get the car moving decently, which really affects your mileage. Highway mileage was pretty good at 25+ but city mileage could drop it down to 16.

I had an 05 MY and it developed a lot of issues common to that first year. If you ever want to get one, I would highly recommend getting a 06+.

Your right man, its just something about the cl. I have an 08 TL-S 6MT, modded heavy 05 base TL and I still use the cl-s as my daily.

Congrats on the accord btw.
