I've been having wet dreams about satin black.

I'm actually going to be powder coating my manifold and valve covers this weekend (maybe even Monday) satin black and start an all black theme on the Accord.

I'm the same way, especially when it comes to deciding on something with my car. I've found that the more you think about a decision you've made, the more you will reconsider it and eventually talk yourself out of.

I don't care what color you paint the damn thing, just get it back on the road!

A little update on the long tube headers... Also had my friend make the intake manifold flanges at his work. Once the headers are complete that will be the next step.

After reading threw this whole thread I have a couple questions if possible .

This is a J35A3 you have with J32A2 heads , what else as a part of it has been changed out ?

Because it's the J32 heads you could potentially run oem J32 headers and or aftermarket headers without problems ?

I decided to use the 3.5 heads since they are identical except for the intake valve shape from what people told me and I've read. They both use the same exact oem headers so everything is interchangeable between the sets.

Thank you! Were going to make some changes to gain more ground clearance under the oil pan. You don't need custom exhaust only a nice large down pipe lmao!!! Nice and simple!!

I was thinking the same thing lol!!! I could have manifolds for the same price after what I have into my complete exhaust smh!!

Anyone have a true manual 03 cls tuned on aem ems version 2? Is the only thing needed to use one properly, is to convert to a auto engine harness? I'm swapping a 3.5 from a auto suv so I would keep the same crank/cam sensors and gears. I haven't heard about many setups so I'm just trying to get some opinions before I make the switch. I've been contemplating on buying one lately.

Shoot me a text Greg. I can help you with this aspect of the build. I'm guessing you are the one Andy was telling me about on needing help with a harness conversion?

I'd be more than happy to assist in this with you....just give me the headers afterwards and we can call it even.

Seriously, you have my number...

If you have anymore questions let me know. I have no problem telling you. Lmao that's funny I wish I had a chance to go back on the larger shot, good clutch, and bigger slicks. I'm sure it would of went into the 11's.

I don't think I have your number lol? After speaking with Andy I decided to go with Jacob at tuck tech for my harness. He seems like a good guy and does nice work. Thank you for your offer. Shoot me a pm with your number so we can talk.

I'm keeping the headers they are like gold lol!!!

What are you trying to make me look like a nutcase? Don't make me post up a screenshot of out conversation to prove you're the one going wacky. Lol

I'm not familiar with too many wiring companies who build harnesses as I make/build my own...both as a profession and on my cars. There is one that stands out in my mind that does very good work. Although I can't think of his name, he's a member on j32adotcom and is currently doing a 3.5 swap on a Civic hatch. The most notable area of strength is how the harnesses are mil-spec connectors in which he uses for bulkheads.

If it weren't for the upkeep on this boosted setup I'm running, I'd def invest the time and money into running a comparable harness. I love that clean, very professional wiring look...especially in a swapped vehicle.

Thanks for posting. The only thing i care about is what your car is running compared to your 60Ft.so i could get some kind of idea where my car is and will do in the 1/4 since i only do the 1/8.
Mine will be faster too.i'm going to go a bit lower on my air pressure next time i go.i should be in the 7's in the 1/8 already . my car has a tire spinning problem.

No problem!! We ran almost identical et's in the 1/8 lol. You probably have the higher trap because you were spinning. Didn't you get the same slicks as me and your still spinning? What did you have your psi set at after the burnout?

I ran 20psi ran 8.27 ,then I ran 19psi and ran 8.12.
I had to drive to the track that day on them and did not want to get low.

But seeing i picked up .15 only dropping 1psi it should get much quicker when I find the sweet spot.
I am on the same fronts and I'm guessing 16psi will be the best.
What air pressure have you been running ?

Looks like your not wanting to give up your tires psi.
Are you close to NC ?
We should get a run or two in someday if your close. I think we basically have the quickest FWD 2nd gen cl's if I'm not mistaken.

Usually a track has a air supply. Try looking for it, for that exact reason lol. If I remember correctly I ran about 18-20psi but that was on a well prepped track. That was on heavy 16 inch 02 cl-p wheels and old 26x9.5 hoosier quick time pros. A lot of factors come into play when trying to get your 60ft down. The easiest thing to try is lowing the tire pressure. Keep going lower to see if it helps. Then you can always make suspension adjustments also. I would make the rear dampening stiffer if you can adjust it on your coilovers. Also don't go too low on the psi because it will cause a lot of rolling resistance and make the car more unstable at high speeds/braking. Let me know how it goes !

I'm in VA. I've went to the 1/8 track in Hertford NC a bunch of times over the years. Any 1/4 mile tracks down there?

I would be down to run once my car is all back together. I'm doing a lot of stuff at once and taking my time so it's exactly the way I want. I hope to have it running again within the next couple of months at the latest. I'm going big this time around lol!!

Maybe it's that extra 1/2" of tire because I can't leave the line and go wot on the motor at any rpm without spinning never mind the spray.
I got the bias ply 26x9x15 slicks and no tubes. it feels quite hairy when I let off at the end. I don't even think I would want to run it in the 1/4.

I'll go big once the motor has a issue.
for now it will be more weight reduction, skinnys on back and possibly a tiny more spray and possibly a higher stall.

Damn I'm surprised I would think it would dead hook n/a on those slicks. Try those things I said. Does your car squat a lot on the launch? If so that would unload the front tires which would hurt traction. Come on you have to run in the 1/4 soon that's for the big boys, where the car really wakes up on the big end lol!!

I'm curious to see what your car does once you do all those things. Keep up the good work!

Another little update. I sent my oem harness out to Jacob at tuck tech so he can use it as a guide since he can't have my car and engine in person. He's basically using it to trace wire lengths and connector locations. I also removed the front section of my subframe from my car and bought a rear section of the front subframe off ebay. To use as a mock up while the headers are being built, to make sure everything clears. Were going to modify the front piece near the front mount. I also noticed my rear mount bushing hole was slightly oblong. I'm going to talk to excelerate performance to see if they offer any type of warranty on those mounts.

Looking good Fox.

Something about the look of a j-series longblock that just screams sexy beast from all directions.

Anxious to see what goodness you reveal...

ps- I will have to get my other iphone out to find our previous text messages but I specifcally remember watching that strange movie that you only see in a Redbox called Piranha DD as you and I were texting. Lmao

I'm just taking my time so it's exactly the way I want. It's a lot of stuff at once. I'm going to be honest I'm starting to get a little anxious though. I just just want to drive it again lol. I hope to have it complete within the next couple of months.

Speaking of Chevy, Wanna know what is really funny? This is the Stock J32A2 Exhaust manifold gasket held up to a Brand new Chevy 350 Vortec head Exhaust port. Look at the size difference The intake mani is very similar in how much bigger it is as well.

I once did a big comparison between j-series engine and a GM LS1. In a cylinder per cylinder perspective, the j-series came out ahead EVERY time. And that was comparing with only the j32a2 260hp motor.

Quick Reply: To Build A J35A3 Short Block + J32A2 Heads??
