Not me, I luv tan on black. My last car had even a lighter interior on black.
I figure tan hides dirt better than black

I guess it all depends on how you keep your ride clean tho...

BTW: I didn't want the bowling ball stuff either....

I've got the parchment interior in my red CLS, and I primarily got it 'cause I think it looks good. Another thing to think about is that the tan interior should keep the car cooler in the summer time as apposed to the black.

I'm planning on buying some all season mats, so I don't f'up the tan floormats too bad (hmmm... maybe I'll buy another set of tan floor mats too).

Love my parchment, but in Canada, that was the only avail. color that came with WDP TLS. I use black pant-saver type floor mats to hide the disgusting tan units.

I have parchment (tan) on my '03 Black CL-S and love it. Black on Black is really nice too, but I kinda find the parchment visually appealing. You can see the entire space you have in the cabin, because its brighter, while black can mask some areas you might want to see, especially at night.

Also, you are stuck with the bowling ball trim (Sorry if that offends any of you with ebony int.), if you go black while I have the light-browish (fake) wood. The only thing that is hard to keep clean for me is the carpets. I usually wash my car once a week (when its not expecting a snow storm like last week!) and don't have cleaning problems. On the hot days we have had in the past, the tan does not seem to retain much heat even though it spends 7hrs. in an open school parking lot daily during the week.

I can also have a darker tint without making the car seem really dark. I'd say that 20% on parchment visually equals 35% on black interior.

I do need some of those all-weather mats, especially for this winter season.

I have seen two cars (both at the same dealer, both were '02's I believe) that had the ebony interior, but the brown wood. Looked pretty good. I love my black...once you black, you never go back!

Yes-- Definitely the above would be the best of both worlds... I like dark wood on black too.

BTW: parchment floor doesn't get dirty at all if you have these:

Ya me either, I think the blue wood is very tacky...

But I do wish I could have the same wood I have /w parchment with the black interior. Parchment is very hard to keep clean over the years.

The car I originally bought was black with tan interior. Since they were going to install the spoiler, mudguards, tint, I didn't drive it home that day. That night, I showed my bro a pic of the setup and he reminded me how much better the black interior looks. I called up the salesperson first thing the next morning and told them I wanted a car with the black interior and fortunately they were able to swap cars for me before I picked it up.

Looking back, the only reason the salesperson was pushing the tan interior so much was that it was what they had and they wanted to clear stock. The black interior car came from a different dealership that they ending up swapping with.

I think that Black on Tan look is a little more elegant then the Black on Black, but to each their own.

It's not hard to keep the interior clean with a minimal amount of attention. I have the all-season black rubber mats in front to help keep the floor carpeting clean.

The black interior may take on a larger burden of dirt before becoming noticeably dirty, but that doesn't preclude you from keeping it clean. Dirt is dirt, be in on a dark finish or a light finish.

i've had tl-s loaners w/ parchment, and it made me happy to have the black interior.

i think the black looks better, and it's much more durable.

Slimey, how do the all weather mats look in the car? Does the black rubber make the floor unattractive or out of place? I'm thinking of getting the OEMs like yours or maybe get some clear plastic ones from PepBoys.

The mats look fine and are of good quality. I got them at my Acura dealer for about $45. Of course, being OEM, they are a perfect fit and have a hole for the holding pin.

They are a must for this crappy winter weather. They are well guttered and have high enough sidewalls to keep the crap from overflowing.

BTW, the OEM all weather mats that I got are black and not tan like seen in the picture of NatesCLS.

are those weather tech mats? how do you like them? the Honda all season mats for my 03 Accord are cut out under the gas pedal!? snow and crud has been dripping on the carpet. i'd like to get something that is squared off at the top and fits to the edges of the wheel wells.

Yes, they are weathertech mats, they are great for me because I wanted the back covered as well and I dont think OEM ones do?

There is a notch cut around but I think that is for fitting reasons. A straight line cut at the top would probably make the mat bunch up in the middle and it wouldn't lay flat. You could put clear plastic back there or something tho...

Why would the color affect durability. This makes no sense.

Nate: Those aren't clear as I searched WeatherTech's site for clear ones. You must have those tan colored rubber mats, right? $50/pair or $90/front & back? They match really well with the rest of the interior, I really thought it was a clear mat and the real tan carpet covers were visible through it.

Ahhh... shit. I just ordered the OEM mats, and now I see that WeatherTech's come in tan at about the same price

I guess that I should call and cancel my order for the OEM's

My girlfriend's father has a Black 01 CLS with the Parchment interior. I have a 01 Black CLS with the black interior.

Both of us actually like my interior slightly better. His is difficult to keep clean and my CL just seems to look a little sportier from the outside. Black on black is the way to go IMO. The only thing I am not crazy about is the bowling ball trim.

Both interiors are nice though. Can't go wrong either way.

No, they are tan. I got them from AUTOACCESSORY.COM for $85 front and back sets. They are so easy to clean, just pull them out hose them off with soap, dry and done.
