Any originals left?
Just been thinking about it lately as my car gets up there in age.
I'm the original owner since June 2003. Picked it up with 6 miles on it, and had them leave the plastic on.
173k miles later and its showing some signs of its age, but still runs like a champ.
I'm still on the original clutch, same springs/shocks since ~30k miles, and window tint is also about 7 years old and it still looks great.
Just wondering how many original owners are still out there?

I still have mine. Bought 01 CL in 2000 and was totaled in 2002. Bought my 03 6sp in Nov 2002 I believe and still have it, 110k miles. 2nd gen CL is the only car I have had.
I put about 100k miles on my koni shocks and the lower bushing is sagging really bad now.

I think you guys are the minority (sadly).
Is it safe to say you got your monies worth?

Definitely got my moneys worth. Only real cost other than the car itself has been routine stuff. Tires, brakes, timing belt, and cracked windshield.
Been really nice the nice 3 years having no payment.

I obviously didnt buy new, but I definitely hear you on having no payments. Its great having that extra bit going towards savings.

Bought my '01 CL-P in 5/2000. It has been a great car. Live in CA and garaged at home and work so looks fairly new but did get the tranny replaced at 65K and have had the usual rotor issues. Now have 82K on it and will be giving it to my twins who are getting their licenses in July. Hope they don't trash it too bad!

I'm still here. Took delivery of my second 6 speed in Jan of 03. Only drive it in the summer. It has 22,500 miles on it and is in close to new condition. I remember the days of Allmotor, Jr.Bean and Shawn S. Tearing up.

I have a lot of respect for you people that can keep a car this long. I love to hear these stories of the original owner almost 10 years down the road. After owning the CL for almost two weeks this car is very special to me, I can see why you still have it. I found the original sticker in the car while cleaning it the other day and thought what a hell of a car for that price back then

Not an original owner but my CL has been in my family since it had 50k. My brother bought it, I forget when, and sold it to me when it had 130k 4 years ago. I've had it since and it now has 181k. I love my CL!

I'm sure with no salt damage it'll last another 20 years at that rate, great job.

Wow 3 clutches in 115k miles? Must be the added stress of the supercharger I'm guessing.
Thats part of the reason I never seriously considered the SC, not many proven options for strengthening the driveline.

It does sounds bad but when i bought the car clutch was slipping already. So i changed it at 60k and now i decided to change it because i was about to put the supercharger back and i had to replace the tranny it self so i killed two birds with one stone. Clutch actually had plenty life left but bearings not so much. Anyway car feels almost brand new need few tweeks here and there. I cant wait to have sc back on car. My sc didnt affect clutch anyhow because i did maybe 2kmiles with it.

Original owner here, bought it new with 12 miles on the odometer, 2001 Black CL-S.
135k miles, only routine stuff done for service!
don't know what i'll replace this car with, but plan to keep it for at least a year or 2 more.

CLS 6MT Navi
I used to post here a lot more years ago, still have my anthracite 6 speed. I bought it in 04 with 7k miles, now has 90k. Had a white 03 6speed before that and sold it to get black int and Navi. I saw the CLS as a keeper so I got the color options I really wanted.
Still drives great, most all still original.
Due the downsizing of the industry I'm in, getting a new car is a low priority, and not much else out there that really adds much new imo. and luckily the CLS is such a strong reliable car. I rarely see any other CLs, esp 03s, S models, or 6 speeds.
enjoy yours, newbies!

I know youre just joking, but I respond anyway. The BRZ/FRS is an awesome little car on paper, but there are no creature comforts. Its difficult to find a reasonably priced car that offers the same or more features in an attractive package while also being just as quick, if not faster.
The Genesis is heavy. Bimmers are too expensive. Mustang doesnt ride well enough IMO and when equipped similarly to the CL (leather, heated seats, HIDs, nav) its about $40k. Camaro is heavy and cheap (quality).....not much out there in the new market.

11+ years now
Bought my Satin Silver CL-S in Dec 2000. She's going to hit 150k miles any day now, and still running like new (I see there are others here with many more miles than mine, so I know she's good to go for quite a while longer). Only regular maintenance (and a tranny replacement at 99k miles!).
Still love the car. I recently got the urge for something else, and haven't been able to find anything that I feel offers enough for the money to replace it.
I'm jealous of those of you with 6MTs :P
ps. I had an Integra GS-R ('94) for 6 years before buying this car. Love my Acuras

Its funny how a common theme is that its nearly impossible to find a car nowadays that offers the combination of power, reliability, creature comforts for anywhere near the MSRP of what the CL-S was. (30$k)
Closest thing I can think of is maybe is a G8 GT? Of course they go and discontinue it though....

I bought my 2001 SSM CL-S in September of 2000. It is in absolutely brand new condition still and has 6148 miles. It's been garaged its entire life and never even seen rain. In fact, it still has some of the new car smell!
I know it's a total waste of money to buy a car and suffer the depreciation cost without driving it, but this was my weekend car that I only drove when it's not raining. I live in Seattle, so dry weekends in 12 years amounts to this much mileage! LOL
By the time I wanted a different car, the depreciation was such that I didn't feel like I would get enough money to part with my absolutely new condition CL-S. So I kept it.
And thus is the story on my CL. It's not worth enough to get rid of it... so I still have it! I should have done this with an NSX!!! If only they were $32K back in 2000!!! LOL

Trust me, had there been a 6-speed manual, I would have gotten that! Heck, if I had known they were going to come out with the 6-Speed in 2003, I would have waited.
Back then, I was so excited to get 260hp and Type S! It's not like now where even Camry's and Accord's have 3.5L motors! Also, that was the beginning of the 5-speed autos... no one knew they would turn out to be as delicate as glass!

Someone asked if this is the only car I have ever owned. No. I've owned 10 cars.
