Yeah the EMS can work for the J. I had(have) this option when my motor was down this winter, just didn't wanna pay the $1200 for the unit and then $1k for the programming/dyno tuning of it.

For minor bolt ons, sure. For a stroked motor, not quite.

yeah, for some minor bolt on's... adjusting fuel trim, thats it...no timing adjustment.

Advancing timing on NA = where the power is at!

eh, i dont know about that. .3-.4 extra displacement in an NA app isnt going to require a full EMS.

im not going to argue the point until i see some before and after dynos.

HP to cost just doesnt seem worth it. dont forget to factor in the cost of a tune in addition to the EMS.

And to prevent detonation, but our ecus control timing their selves. Those guy who put turbo j32a2s on sandrails never touched timing and never had an issue. They tuned for A/F for max gains.

When boosting you dont want to advance timing, you want the timing to retard - which our ECU does perfectly well (and way too much for NA builds). Thats why they never really had issues.

considering your mods it would not be worth the money. I would look into aftermarket clutch, s/c or turbo, or the 3.6 before i ever thought about getting this.

You dont need tuning. If you go with the basic CT s/c Id still recommend the F/IC6. If you stroked, went with an M90 or turbo, then this would be what youd want.

Launch control and boost control built in FTMFW.

^ sweet...Will make the drive up if your any good. j/k

On a side note, i've been hearing that the EMS is not compatible with the CL-S 6MT only with people with Auto motors with 6 speed swaps. I'm sure theres a way to make it work from maybe just wiring.

I believe its bc of our crank sensors. I'm sure nva av6 will figure out a way to get around it. Most likely a wiring solution. But uve been hearing this, has aem confirmed it?

Eddie - Thats why I was a bit surprised when you texted me about it being available so quickly. I know they were talking about it and at the time (2 weeks ago) it wasn't compatible with our sensor set. I forget if we have Hall or Mag sensors, but it only works with one of them for now.

AEM knows they are missing out on a huge market though because most of the swaps use the manual J32A2, so they are working on it. The hardware can support it, they just need to write the program.

so is this an option that is ready now? excelerate has one for 100 cheaper than the OP's link showed. I'm in need of some sort of tuning and wouldn't mind this.

A few of the sensors will not work, will have to change some of the sensors on the cluster

Which sensors on the cluster? VSS? Coolant temp?

I heard some interesting news from a shop out in AZ that worked with Hasport and AEM on making this. He said that the hardware cant support the 6MT sensor set and the likelyhood of AEM making one specifically for the CL-S6 is slim to none.

If thats true, I plan on swapping my harness and sensors around Spring to run this.

Hmm. I wonder if we can run the coolant sensor directly to the cluster...

Same for the VSS. Anyone know what the pulse wave is for our VSS?

From what I've heard assclown on the 2nd gen TL side is having progress but his is a 6-speed swap so iirc the crank sensor is different from ours.
