What is a "richies module"?
Probably best if you drop in the AV6 transmission, swapping to a 6MT is not for the faint of heart or the light of wallet.

In short the 'richies module', on the 2G CL/TL side, IIRC was a repinned harness that allowed for an easier 'eletronic swap' when auto transmission CL/TL's peeps wanted to go with the manual tranny and ECU. Made by vendor RV6 Performance.

Ide love to throw a 6 speed from 04+ tl theyre all over the place for like 500$ 🤔 but looks like ill have to buy a 166k km 07 av6 for 1000 😶
Unless im mistaken richies harness would allow you to run whatever 6 speed would bolt up not only the cl6

I think in gonna go through the bottom and just drop the trans. Anyone do it this way? Probably have to remove at least the front portion of the subframe hopefully not the rear part. If it involves messing with the rear part of the subframe ill pull it all out the top.

I've done it both ways. Dropping the trans is less disassembly but it is a heavy unwieldy unit to wiggle out/in if you are by yourself. Yes, just the front subframe, both axles(do yourself a favor and remove the intermediate shaft also). Of course the battery tray and all the misc. electrical, cooling and shift connections.
At this point you are pretty intimate with how this thing goes together so I bet you could get it out in 3-4hrs

I figured it would come out like that. Thats how i did all my older hondas except this is a heavy ass autobox. Much heavier than the old 5 spds im used to. Ill probably use the crane from the top to lower it or at least as a 3rd hand.
Then while i run the av6 i can look out for 6 speed parts and slowly gather.
Hopefully ill find richies module somewhere haha ide really love 6spd and theres so many 04+ around damnnnnit.
Anyone ever trick the ecu at each input individually?
would be a good DIY with all the non cls6 6 speed transmissions available now.

He won't make it for you any more. He'll only help or remake ones for people who have previously bought them. Apparently, there were too many idiots who couldn't install it correctly. Then again, I've heard from very experienced people that the modules were finicky. Either way, it's unlikely that you'll get one.

Wow, that is
I guess the best options, depending on mechanical/electrical skillsets, for 'swapping' is:
For the short game, it's best to pick-up a reasonably intact, low priced, donor CLS6. That way all parts are present.
For the long game, one can still piece together all that's needed from the CLS6, depending on budget/dedication.
If one opts to utilize an '04-06 TL-6 speed tranny, without Richies module, you would still have to 'deal' with the tranny side CLS6 crank sensor and different TL-6 gear shift lever.

Yeah oh well. Even the 04+ TL autos are double the price of the AV6 and probably beat on. Im gonna crack open the old unit and see how hard it is to get out the diff and decide if ill swap in the lsd or not. Pretty sure its at the bottom of everything. Probably wont be because im already over budget. Hopefully this av6 tranny is good to me.

If you do decided to swap the LSD into the AV6, like your J35A3 build, take alot of pictures.
I think you would be the first to actually attempt it.

Where is this Automatic transmission LSD stuff coming from? Do you have any link which supports the existence of such a creature?

No, I believe you are correct. You gotta understand that I've got 6-speed on the brain.
613CLS, sorry buddy. IF you want to 'play' with a manual transmission, then you have to 'pony-up'. As you know.

Yeah, the Honda 6MT transmissions do not have the LSD and at least some of the Acura 6MTs do (I only know for sure about the 3G TL 6MT models).

Im sure the av6 will last untill i either do manual swap or buy a diff car that is manual. 04+ manuals are easier to come by but im a coupe kinda guy lol so probably swap.
this av6 trans has 166k KM on it i should get at least 50k hard KM out of it. I drive the car about 5k each summer so far so thats like forever haha. The good part of it not being a DD.
Ill post some pics of the transmission swap. Also high flow cat and a flowmaster hp2 being added to the exhaust. After headers the rasp is crazy and tone is way too loud. Draws too much attention for street car. Currently catless and 2.5 pipe all the way to two magnaflow straight thru design mufflers i got used for cheap.

AV6 transmission installed and what a difference 2 - 3 shift is just amazing.
Only sensor i changed was the 2-3 shift sensor i beleive not 100% (the one sensor with diff plug) but i had this brand new from last year. The oil warmer from the av6 was used and i modified the lines(the larger exit for coolant i split in 2 and routed the 2nd to where my TB warmer line went as it was just looped before ). I also used the av6 range sensor by cutting the harness and splicing my old harness end ( all wires matched in color and worked fine). My old range sensors were just caked with corosion from salt. Also replaced the transmission filter ( 07 av6 part) its just a small paper element where the line comes out of the warmer.
The job is a bit of a pain but im sure most people here have done it before lol.
The overall feel of the car now is great. Definately gives new life to this 17 year old car. Im sure it keeps up with a 2017 AV6 or damn close anyway.

Nicely done! Agree 2-3 shift is crisp. My 1-2 shift is a little spongy but all in all a tremendous improvement over the B7WA glass trans. You may notice weird TC lockup on the highway but the consensus is that the BAYA is setup for an accord ECU vs our cars.

good news! You need either a high flow cat or a big resonator. I have a 3" exhaust with a resonator closer to the Y split and a high flow cat and it's nice. But as I get older I feel I could add another resonator closer to the cat.

Just an update after driving it for a while ide like to mention to anyone and everyone dont buy OBX pulley LOL it broke right off its 4 spokes tonight.
Maybe theyll honor the warranty but honestly i dont want it to happen again im lucky it didnt take anything out with it.
Other than that she runs great. Time for a new pulley and some stickier tires.

So true... My second gear shed a few teeth a month ago, and since I wasn't ready to pay 550 dollars for the complete set - I've actually downgraded from a 6MT to the AV6 transmission. It's not a BAYA, rather an MRDA (from the JDM Honda Inspire UC1, which is technically the same car as the USDM Accord from 2004 and up), but it's apparently the same unit. The car should be ready next week, hopefully I won't be too disappointed.
