Bought a new master cylinder last week. If I can get the clutch hydraulics figured out, I should have it running this weekend. I just need to install the radiator, double and triple check my wiring, and fill the fluids.
It's been a while since I had any updates. I'm back at it today. I've got the new clutch master cylinder in place. I think the seals dried out or something as it sat empty on the bench all winter. The actuator rod wasn't completely square to the MC either. I had to cut my bracket up but now I was able to square the MC and stiffen the bracket. I haven't finished re-building the bracket yet, just test fitting before I weld it into one piece. I was also able to cut the CAI from the donor vehicle and get it to fit. At this point, I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with the rubber couplers on the CAI, weld pieces in to make it one piece, or go with the stock air intake off the Odyssey. Whatever option I use, it will all be satin black when it's finished.

Oh yeah, I got the CL's radiator installed too. The lower mounts were an inch closer on the Acura so I had to use a 40mm holesaw to move the drivers side hole in the front crossmember in one inch. I'll also have to fabricate an upper mount once I get the core support put back together. I've still got to get a new radiator. This one is going on fifteen years old.
With the exception of exhaust, everything that needs to be bolted, crimped, tightened, etc. is complete. I want to go over my wiring first, but then it's time to fire. I'm hoping that happens tonight.

I used to really like those odysseys but knew their trannys were bad. I always wished there would be an option for a manual in minivans and SUVs. To put a J32 in that baby is tremendous.
So it turns out I had the IMRC wire that is supposed to go to pin B15 on the ECU connected to pin B9 which controls the coil on cylinder 2. I've been chasing a misfire for days. I retraced my steps and discovered my mistake. She's actually running like a top. I've got new gaskets coming for the fuel line connection. It's weeping a bit of gas. I've got new orings coming for the power steering pump. It's whining and making the oil foam. The front downpipe flange is just barely touching the front engine mount. I'm gonna drop it and grind a little bit off. And the driver's side axle seal was already dripping slightly after I drove it. I got the correct OEM seals for both sides and will get to it eventually.
I let it finally warm up enough to kick the fans on. The Ody had two fan switches, likely due to weight. Anyway, the first switch was designed to kick the radiator fan on at 199 degrees. The second switch would close and the AC condenser fan would come on at 210. The second switch was installed in a boss behind the timing cover. No way at this point to add the second switch if I even wanted to. I just jumped the grounds for the two relays so that they both come on at 199.
By the way, I bought an UltraGauge Blue the other day. It was about $80 on line plus shipping. So far I really dig it. Due to system changes between 2000 and 2003, the temp gauge isn't compatible. I didn't want to run it too long not knowing what the temp was so I haven't known if the fans worked. I did feel the upper and lower radiator hoses. I could tell when the thermostat opened. Tonight, I was able to connect my phone to the Ultragauge via bluetooth and watch in real time as the temp rose. It reads a few degrees higher than nominal. The thermostat opened when the phone said 196 instead of the 192 target and the fans kicked on at 205, not 199, making me jump because my hand was too close and then blowing a cloud of dust directly into my eyes, nostrils, and lungs.
I couldn't have been happier.

So what then became of the suspected recurrence of the 'intermittent' flywheel noise you mentioned in the other thread? Did it work itself out and disappear?
I've only had it started a few times. The one and only time I've heard it since I added the washer, it was really faint. I'll have to keep paying attention to it.
I got the Acura key fob to work with the Honda door locks tonight. When doing something like this, where I'm not certain something is going to work, I like to test the concept as easily as possible. I cut the plug for the Acura receiver off of the harness and tinned the ends of the wires that I needed with solder. Tinning them makes them stiff like a pin so that they'll stick into the other harness connector. That way, I'm not cutting anything until I know it works. Anyway, it works. I hard wired it in now. The security system doesn't work, but I didn't have the transmitter for that system anyway. If I really feel the need to make it all work, I'll splice in the multiplexes from the Acura and make it plug and play.

Trying to imagine the center console. I can't use it all but I can use what you see and maybe the cup holder. Maybe it's time to learn upholstery work and go seventies fun van. Maybe I can add an iPad above the change drawer and power outlet.

I think you need to watch some old episodes of Pimp My Ride and think WWID. What would Ish do? Maybe some layers of MDF to build up a contoured base and then cover with a layer of foam (house carpet padding, not automotive foam) and some pulled almost taut vinyl.
That's pretty much what I was thinking. I'm gonna try to make a frame out of angle iron and put threaded inserts in it to attach the panels. If I build it right, the Acura bits oughta snap right in like they did in the original car. I've still got the Acura's stereo and wiring, including the amp. If I can fit the stereo in there where it's supposed to go, the tablet might look more at home above the stereo.
Ive been looking at the autodroid software for a Nexus 7 tablet. It's pretty cool. It will pair with the obdII scanner I've got and display a butt load of different gauges in real time.
Torque pro is the go to as well have you checked it out?
A guy I work with loaned me his scan tool that worked with Torque lite. It just so happened that when I got home that day, my scan tool was in the mail box so I never even checked his out.
I got the leaky axle seal straightened out yesterday. Just gotta figure out the power steering whine.
Still playing with the center console design. The CLs console just wasn't going to work because of the way everything in front of the shifter is angled towards the driver. I couldn't think of a clean way to blend the console into the dashboard so I went to plan B. Then I went to plan C.
This is the middle section of a 2001 Accord console attached to the very back of the CL console. It fits great. I also moved the shifter up, forward, and to the right a little. I'm going to cut up another pair of front door panels to attach the pockets at the bottom to the sides of the console. Passengers side door pocket on the driver's side of the console and vice versa.
