Thanks. Hardrace makes quality parts, nothing bad to say about them besides prices being rather high. My hardrace parts have held up well, nothing has needed replacement yet.

After taking some on/off ramps on highway, think I'll need rear wing to counter-balance front splitter. Not sure where to start, guess checking local speedshops and seeing if they carry wings and will let me test fit them. Could bolt oem spoiler back on, but doubt it does much.

Could just buy universal wing such as a APR and hope it fits. If not custom uprights might need to be machined.

Think plan is to buy apr gtc200 wing and save some money.

Have my oem bored tb(with all sensors and cable bracket), 74mm Blox tb, and p2r plenums to sell. On fence about plenums, but a good enough offer will take them. Pm me, might post sale thread later today.

Was a miata with APR GTC200 wing at event yesterday. After looking at it, I am thinking it might be too small for CL and look little silly . Base is 40" apart and wing is 60" wide. CL trunk is 47" wide.

APR GTC200 can be bought for under 700 shipped, whereas a GTC300 is 1400 and Voltex would be 2 grand or more.

Could order directly from APR and have custom base width to try and mount to oem spoiler holes. If buy from APR it will be few hundred more. GTC200 from APR is 808 plus shipping.

Few ppl have asked about where to buy Hardrace parts. Noticed after buying all parts and telling them they fit Acura CL that Hardrace updated its website and now has the parts listed for the CL.

See they now have Pillowball bushings listed for front lower control arms, gonna need to grab a set of those.

It is rather amusing how many times I've talked to companies/shops about making custom parts and they seem willing to do work. Then I tell them the car is a Acura CL and they never reply to messages again.

It's an old car and there's only a few of us left modifying them. It's probably not the best return of investment for them.

Still, great job with the Hardrace parts. I'll check em out.

Rear diffuser build will be starting this weekend. Sheet metal order is on its way. Design will be similar to my last design, but trying to use less angled aluminum and fasteners for less weight and smoother airflow. Thinking of maybe trying some aluminum epoxy to avoid using fasteners/rivets.

Just some simple intake and exhaust mods. Headers and intake would be first.

For headers DC Sport or ebay. For cat-back Tanabe or modify Accord exhaust. For mufflers comptech or weld up some magnaflows.

A simple search on forum should find these answers for you.

Here is my 1st Edition Diffuser Design.

I like the 1st one, but used too much angled aluminum and fasteners that it was rather heavy. I would guess 20 lbs, plus it wasn't symmetrical.

Here is 2nd Design. Should weigh less and is symmetrical. Let me know which you prefer and what you think.

Really wish exhaust was not in the way and diffuser could just be one big piece. Tempted to just cut damn muffler off.

Here is what spinning a CL at AX looks like.

https://youtu.be/gx9Yt2upsv4

Had 3 or 4 ppl tell me the aero on my car is sucking the cones in and moving cones that I don't even touch. No wonder I had no clean runs yesterday.

On my way to ax on Sunday I had a Schaumburg cop pass me, circle back and pull me over for No front license plate. He let me go with fix-it ticket and 2 minutes down road a 2nd cop passed me and circled back. He was about to say he pulled me over for no front plate, when I told him I was just pulled over by his coworker. He then proceeded to say "well you were speeding going 40 in a 30".

For the last 10 minutes of drive I saw over 30 other vehicles without front plates. At event basically all the cars had no front plates, but I was only one pulled over.

To add insult, the cops both showed up at AX event to spectate.

In last few years I've also had cops pull me over 3 times(not even in CL), rip me from my car, handcuff me, search my car, and never find anything. Then they say sorry and let me go after damaging the vehicles. I have pretty much perfect record with no speeding tickets in over 15 years. Not sure why police hate me so much, I am white after all and live in nice area. Hard to support the police when they harass you.

Well, that should be a decent car to transition to. Something lighter, smaller and maybe more nimble.

Let us know the parts, I'm sure people are interested.

If you are referring to my CL, it is still almost 400 lbs lighter than Civic even with aero on. Not selling CL, just some parts. Ditching Focus ST though.

Civic is classed in D street, whereas my CL is around A-B street car time wise even with slow steering, me being too low in car to see cones properly, and suspension too stiff for most parking lots.

I have set of koni rear shocks with eibach race springs and new top hats with 200 miles or less on them. Have front springs also. Need money to buy rear wing, otherwise I'd probably keep them. Also have Ron Jon side skirts never installed if anyone wants to pick them up locally in Chicago area. Pm me if interested.

Oh wow that is a shame, hope you are OK. Looks like cage did its job. No worries about you posting here.

If you are swapping to 98-02 Accord it is same chassis, so all suspension parts will swap.

I am interested in how the wreck happened, you can post here or pm me.

So I've been running on really old tires all year which was a mistake. Should have changed sooner. At 9/2/17 event I corded my front RE71R's and times were awful.

There was another event on 9/3, so decided to swap my rear wheels to front with over 2 season old Star Spec 2 tires. Mounted my othe set of SSR Type F wheels with original Star Specs on them that are probably 5 years old.

Did a run on cold tires with rear pressures too high and here was result. First time I've had video recording during spin (doesn't happen often). Atlas it looks graceful on video and I didn't smash curb or stall it.

I was still having issues seeing cones with my seating position and my height. Decided to remove passenger seat and use the aluminum side rails from that seat on my driver seat. They are taller than the steel ones. One issue is with these side mounts and using the slider, there are rather big gaps between the mounts and seat. Had to use spacers and longer bolts to fill gaps. Not sure I want to leave it like that, so will need custom side mounts made this winter. This raised seat 1-2 inches and also tilted it back a bit.

Installed new RE71R tires on front. That plus being able to actually see made a huge difference. Finished 2nd in class out of 23 drivers. Only car that beat me was a modded Porsche Cayman GT4 with good SCCA driver. I had 2 times that would have beaten him, but did not realize till after I was hitting 1st cone on course and someone told me. Oh well, still think it is my best result.

Results posted here, look under U class :

The last event for WCMC was 9/16/17. It was just a test n tune. Was fastest in class by 1 second. Too bad it wasn't points event.

Here is my 3rd run:

The changes made this winter seemed to really help and CL is driving perfectly. There are a few events in Milwaukee left and hoping I can make it to 1 or 2. These courses will be more flowing, more wide open, and faster. I know WCMC videos don't look that impressive or fast. Keep in mind smooth and slow is fast. Typically if it looks fast you are over-driving and losing time.

I'd say my CL, times wise, would be around a B-stock car(think bether drI've cold be faster than me.) New Civic Type R runs in D-stock, so CL is faster.

Nice vids. Your brakes bite hard! There's one point in that second video where you get on them hard for a second and you can really tell. Nice work!

Thanks. Brakes definitely bite hard, just don't get to use them much on these courses without losing momentum. Anytime I drive another vehicle it is obvious the difference.

Forgot to mention on the test n tune day there was a Focus RS that runs with SCCA in B-stock class I beat by 6/10's of a second. My CL if driven really well might even beat A-street cars. Think if steering was quicker could be even faster.

Was doing some research and saw if you move mounting point where the steering rod connects to front knuckle inwards you can actually quicken steering ratio(something drifters do.) That might be an easier/better solution than trying to fit rack from another car or using steering rack quickener. Not sure if I want to start messing with suspension geometry though. Custom knuckles with adjustment for that, ackerman, bump steer, etc. would be nice.

Wow, I love what you have done with the CLS6! Very cool. Way to keep a car exciting for the 15 years you've owned it.

I haven't been onto this 2nd Gen. CL forum in a long time, but this was worth the visit.
