Plans for this winter are more weight reduction (would like to get down under 2600 lbs), front splitter modifications, drag reduction mods, aluminum PCI side skirts with modification, fender venting modification and possibly custom flares, air intake duct, underbody panels, maybe rework rear diffuser, rear wing or trunk spoiler with oem wing, and begin planning and getting parts for 3.6 engine build or possibly rotrex sc.

If anyone is interested locally in my VIS carbon trunk send me a pm. It has no damage, but don't trust mounting a wing to it. Would possibly trade for oem trunk without spoiler and little cash on top.

Installed air intake duct, fender vents, and PCI side skirts. Car looks much more aggressive with side skirts. Will get some pics posted up soon.

I also have pics from track day to sort through and post.

Could post DIY on mounting side skirts if anyone is interested.

Working on lightening splitter support brackets atm, will post full car pics once front bumper is back on.

Fender Venting: Brainstorming

Decided to just add fender louver vents for now. In the future could add more venting.

Here are few ideas.

Could also gap rear of fender, but would need to cut lip off.

Fender Louver Vent: Installing

Vent Mock-Up

Vent Opening Cut-Out

Mesh added to Fender Trim

Louver Vent Mounted with M3 Hardware

No this is to vent front wheel wells. Spinning tires build up a lot of high pressure that creates drag. Having venting gives that pressure a way to escape and reduce drag and maybe lift. This won't really reduce weight.

Have not had any brake issues doing 20 minute sessions, so don't see need to install ducting atm.

Downloaded track pics, just need to sort thru and upload to pb, then I'll post link.

I like your vids.
Cool, didn't realize that...
did you notice an actual difference in how it drives from doing that?
You're gonna end up with an Atom car...bare bones. Cool.

Thanks. Have not driven it since installing fender vents or side skirts. I won't notice anything from driving it. Not much left to do weight wise(for street driven car), so next step will be adding more power with 3.5 or 3.6 build.

I know it's more about function than form but have you considered doing a silver plastidip over your fab'd pieces to at least give the appearance a uniform look?

After installing the 71R tires on rear, car tends to still understeer.

Ordered Hardrace LCA pillowball bushings and the UCA pillowball bushings. Gonna replace rubber bushings that come in Hardrace UCA's. My current setup is maxed at -2 front camber. Hardrace arms provide more adjustment which might help understeer.

Probably gonna up rear spring rate from 14k to 16-18. Might lower front from 12k to 10.

Cusco made a lsd for newer J Series Trans to run in Pirelli World Challenge Accords.

Would need P2R final drive also. So lsd+fd+install is gonna be $4k.

Has your experience with Hardrace parts been good? Looks like an interesting alternative to the normal brands that make parts for the CL.

No complaints or issues with any of their parts. They are pricey though. I've been running steering rack bushing, extended ball joints, lca's (oem lca with hardrace hardened rubber), uca pillowball bushings, 4 rear arms (pillowball), rear control arms (pillowball), and rear hub bushings (hardened runber) for 2 or more years.

Whats up guys I'm back. Need to clean 2 years of dust off the ole CL and get to work again. Just need yo change oil and rear sway bushings and CL should be good to go. Gonna be picking up a 2023 subaru wrx as my daily soon after totaling my 2020 Wrx.

Covid put a damper on my racing and I switched hobbies for 5-6 years. Been having health issues and bad vertigo for years now which prevented me from working on car.

No civic type R, too expensive. Had a 2014 focus st, then 2020 wrx, now i'm getting a 2023 wrx premium(just waiting for check from insurance). I thought about getting new civic si, but hard to justify when honda is upcharging and subaru is offering $1557 off msrp on 2023 Wrx. Too be honest I'm not really a fan of newer cars and miss driving CL on street. CL is just so much more fun than a stock wrx.

Why not something like a 10g Accord Sport 2.0T?
2018-2020 (pre-facelift) had 6MT option -- stock gearing sucks but easy to put FK8 LSD / 4.11 final drive and FK8 5th and 6th in it.
the 10AT trans is awesome too.

I thought about buying used, but never bought used before. Not sure I want to find other ppls problems. My insurance policy has a "New Replacement" clause for enough to cover $30k. I like WRX just wish it had better steering feel and a honda shifter.

I'm gonna have to remove AEM ecu and go back to stock so I can pass emissions. Wish I never installed it to be honest. Gains on N/A 3.2 were so minimal, plus it idles bad.

I'm sure someone would buy it if you list the AEM, being discontinued and all.
