Thanks. It is a metallic which normally looks different in sunlight.

After looking again the fitment is actually pretty good.

Forgot to mention the SSR wheel &tire weighed 43.5 lbs with 35 psi. The Volk wheel weighed 44 lbs at 35 psi. It is .5 inches wider, lower offset, and tires have more rubber on them. Ends up being same weight basically. The rears should be lighter than SSR slightly.

Tried a new mounting location for GoPro on driver door facing the front wheel. Video did not turn out how I wanted. The sun was also on the wrong side of the car.

Well I use the open case back. Could try it with the closed back panel.

Gonna try again tomorrow.

Wondering if I should remove Brake dust shields when installing BBK or just trim them to fit.

What is your guys opinion?

Did some research. Some ppl remove them and have no issues.

Some ppl think they are to keep Brake dust off wheels or suspension. Some think they are to keep heat away from suspension ball joints. Other ppl think they are a water shield. Some think they are to keep debris and rocks from getting behind Brake pad or stuck on rotor vanes.

Then it is a question of if the shield still functions properly with bigger rotors and bigger wheels.

On one hand, If it is not a burden to remove the hub(s) to get at the fasteners holding the shields on then their is weight savings to be had.

On the other hand, if you leave them and/or trim to keep some of their functionality then they may still have some value in regards to minimizing debris accumulation.

Not going to remove the hub. If I remove the shields, I will just cut them off.

take them off, shouldn't have to remove the hubs or anything to remove them either. Mine just had a few screws on the backside holding them on.

Looking at the knuckle/hub replacement diagram in the manual, I never considered cutting them off at the thin area to the front; however, that will certainly work.

If you decide to get those Hardrace Front Upper Control Arms, I'll buy your old Ingalls and just replace the ball joints if need be. Although, your fitment does look mighty fine.

Yea at first fitment looked a little off, but after driving it seemed to settle in some and looks almost perfect now. Very aggressive. Might purchase those arms later on, will let you know.

Made another video. Forgot to change the rear case cover. Sorry swoosh there is still wind noise.

Mounted camera lower down behind the door. This shows wheel fitment pretty good and also how stiff my suspension is. It also shows a nice little back road I like that has some nice curves at end. Sadly this is about as good as roads get in area of Illinois I live. Look at all the rocks flying up heh.

Want to see if I can mount camera under the car facing the rear suspension like the view they show in Continental Tire Racing Series.

Will try and install BBK this weekend or early next week.

Was reading a test for new 200 treadwear street tires in grassrootsmotorsports.com magazine.

They tested on a miata. They had the Rival S and re-71r slightly edging out the star spec 2 tires. They mentioned the Star Spec 2's as being more heat sensitive. Gonna need to use water sprayer between runs, but I already do that. Should be an improvement over original Star Spec still.

I've never used them personally, but I've crewed with teams using BFG Rival's, I've never heard anything but raving reviews. They are absolutely kickass tires and you can't go wrong with them.

I am referring to the Rival S, focus on the S part. They are a new better rival. From what I've read they are a pretty big improvement over the Rival. Only size they offer that would fit my car is 245/40/18 though. I want to try the RE-71R.

Watched your autocross video Street, looked pretty fast.

Ordered this book November 2014 and it finally arrived today, just under 7 months after paying for it.

Look what I was up to today. Will post more pics, weights, and impressions later. Too tired, hot, sweaty, and hungry to do it now.

First impressions are WOW!!! The initial bite even without pads bedded in is intense. Good thing I had my harness on or might have went through windshield. They barely made any noise, no more than my previous setup. Might be noise once they really heat up, but nothing I am concerned about.

Just need to clean car and pack, then should be ready for National Meet. Gotta represent 2nd Gen CL.

Thanks. The calipers are pretty big, but the first thing you notice when you pick them up is how light they are. Rotor actually looks a little small behind the wheel but still looks amazing.

Can confirm that the 03-08 TSX and 04-08 TL BBK is a direct fit for our 2nd gen CL.

Brake Weight

Weighed all the removed components, so can compare weights.

Was expecting maybe a few pounds lighter per side, but the outcome was more than expected.

Removed Setup

- EBC Ultimax Rotor 17.5 lbs
- Legend Caliper & Bracket 12.5 lbs
- EBC Yellow Pads 2.0 lbs
- Backing Plate 0.60 lbs

Total 32.6 lbs

Stoptech BBK

- 2 Piece Rotor 14.5 lbs
- Caliper 6.5 lbs
- Caliper Bracket 1.0 lbs
- Stoptech Pads 2.1 lbs

Total 24.1 lbs

So that is 8.5 lbs lighter per side or 17 lbs total.

My car weight is now down to 2808 lbs with over 1/2 tank of gas. Good stuff.

EBC Ultimax Rotor

Legend Caliper & Bracket

Backing Plate

EBC Legend Pads

Stoptech Pads

Will have Legend Calipers, Caliper brackets, ebc rotors, unused front stoptech brake lines, set of EBC red and yellow pads, and rebuild kits for sale.

Bought a new set of lug nuts. They are EVS Tuning Titanium Lug Nuts.

Comparison of the R26 Project Kics & EVS Tuning Lugs. Kics weigh 26g each and EVS weigh 27g each. So they add about 20g of weight.

Lugs on wheel with BBK in back. The blue on the end of the lugs matches the wheels really well. That is part of reason for purchasing them.

Overall am very happy with brakes. Bed them in this morning. Didn't really notice any noise. Can notice the weight reduction through steering wheel. Feels great. These pads produce a lot of dust, will need to clean wheels once a week.

random question....what was the weight of the oem front seats? I saw you posted the weight you lost with the new ones but not the actual oem weight. I'm guessing 70lbs?
I just saw some nice RSX seats local for a great price. I'm a smaller guy so they would fit better I'm sure, plus loose some weight. I wonder if the airbags would still work.

Thanks. Weekend was fun, like always.

Here is a pic of me driving. I always wondered why everyone laughs as they drive by.

This is with an extra cushion so I am sitting higher than normal(probably 1/2 to 3/4 inch higher).

Yea that new color looks great. I was worried the blue would not look good on silver, but after having all wheels mounted the color looks great on silver.

I was hoping ppl from National Meet would post pics I can repost. If not I can take pics, but only have a phone camera. My pictures don't do the car or wheels justice.
