Please, I don't care to hear anything about how bad it needs dropped and whatnot. I'm about to be 35 with a 10 year old car, spending money on lowering it probably isn't the best idea. That being said, I may do it if suspensions parts are wearing/worn out.

You also must have missed the part where I stated that I'm not going to invest 12.5% of a 10 year old, 100K mile car's value into lowering it an inch or two.

i have to agree, looks unfinished. Why not spend the extra $500 and THEN stop investing in a 10 year old car? I would have to imagine the 4x4 stance will bug you eventually and you already shelled out good money for the wheels, finish it off right!

best money I spent honestly, more so than the rims even. Instantly improves the car in ways that new rims can't. Without a drop, new rims only make the stance ugliness stick out even more imo. My only mistake was not buying coilovers first and learned the hard way about the eibach kit on a 6 speed, before ditching it for adjustable coils.

you can get a good set of tein coils for cheap or HR springs/Tokico shock combo for a fair price and installation isn't hard if you can do it yourself or have friends who can help. no need to slam it, even a subtle drop will do wonders for the appearance.

good luck, it does look better, not trying to diss you, just think a slight drop will set it off even more.

It does when you're still riding around on winter tires on 16's and 2 of your factory 17's need replaced anyway, in addition to all 4 17" tires.

I have had nothing but bad luck with lowered cars. My Maxima on H&R/KYB AGX had rattles and needed periodic tightening. My K&W coilovers on my SRT blew and I had to send the damn things to Germany via Cali. I never touched my GS 430 and never had any problems.

Yeah, a lowered car looks better...to <1% of the population.

Like I said, if I have to get into the suspension for something else, I may do it. But right now, lowering a car means $1,000 coilovers that are going to blow every NE winter or springs and shocks that aren't going to look & ride as good. Either one means rolled fenders and camber correction, which ends up being far north of the $500.

I used to be all about doing everything to my cars, I just have different priorities at this point in life. I'd rather have a better savings/401k, more company stock, or a Daniel Defense 12" quad rail or Aimpoint Comp M3 for my AR if I'm gonna be irresponsible.

But believe me, if I do decide to lower it, I'll be asking you guys for the best options. Austin, you were a tremendous help with my wheels and I genuinely appreciate that.

I hear you completely. I had my CL lowered on eibach prokit then went to coilovers. It may handle better around turns and may look cooler, but it sucks when you bottom out, rub the fenders, and put all that extra stress on the suspension. My ball joints went quick when riding around 3 inches lower to the ground. Needless to say I am thinking about lowering my SRT an inch.

Your CL looks fine for its age.

Looks good and I did the same thing, I waited till I needed to replace the struts to lower the car. When you do I would suggest the koni yellows along with the h&r sport springs.
