'01CL Starts and dies.. fuel pump? Fuel pump relay?
This morning I tried to start my '01 3.2CL after it sat for approx 10 days in my garage. She started right up, nice and strong, ran for about 1 second, and promptly sputtered / died. I tried again 4 times and got the same result.. same strong turnover, prompt start, and equally prompt shutoff.
Popped the hood, battery voltage was 12.36. I waited about 5 minutes and tried again, this time with driver side door open. This time I got a slightly longer turnover, with 3-4 "rises" in the turnover before she started.
(You know when you're starting a car and if it doesn't start immediately, you get that dah-dah-dah and it starts up? Not the same "click" type sound as a dead battery though.)
Ok, so I got 3-4 of those (which is more than usual, can't remember ever more than one of them) and she started up and ran just fine. I let my foot sit on the accelerator just a touch, for about 15 seconds, then released, and she's running smooth as always.
Went to the grocery store, came out, crossed my fingers, and started her up. Again, the 3-4 dah-dah-dah's and she started up without any sputtering.
Is this a fuel pump or fuel pump relay? At first I thought bad gas but I'm on the bottom 3rd of a full fill, so I figure bad gas would have caused an issue by now.
My dad suggested to pull all the fuses and check for corrosion or bad contact, which I'm going to do.. anyone else know what I might be dealing with?
