Interesting - this is the first 8 speed DCT I've heard of being replaced for rough shifts. The replacement discussion has primarily been about the ZF 9 speed.

VCM on the TLX is only on the 6 Cylinder engines. The i4 is a direct injection engine so it will, by nature, have a bit more noise (and perhaps vibration) at idle than a non DI engine.

Congrats and welcome aboard! No car is perfect and I agree - the TLX is a great value and checks a lot of the boxes for many people as long as you're not looking for a true sports car.

Enjoy!

Interesting. I thought they already committed to a Type-S for the popular models. Frankly given the sales trends I would think an RDX Type-S would have a better chance at success than a TLX Type-S.

Hmmm - CRV and RDX continue to do very well. RDX is a winner!

They must be discounting the Accord pretty well as the sales seem to be coming back a bit. TLX may be getting a bit long in the tooth.

It's a mystery to me why the new Passport has the 9 speed in it and not the new 10 speed. I'm guessing the next gen TLX will get the 10 speed from the RDX - might be worth the wait.

I'm in full agreement. It's clearly not a race car but I find the 2.4 mated with the DCT to have surprising power/quickness in the lower gears.
