Leak leading to overheating is big risk. Broken bolts due to overtorquing (small bolts require < 10 ft - lbs).

Primary reason is that failure is not catastrophic (such as timing belt).

Fan is toast since bumping reseated worn brushes. You can confirm by testing for voltage to the connector w/ fan activated (AC on). If voltage present fan motor is bad.
