@@ 105K service in dealership or local garage ? @@
Hi everyone
I'm suppose to take my 05 TL for 105K service in few months, went to Flatiron Acura in Boulder,CO and got estimating of $1600+ tax for it (timing belt, tensioner, water pump, spark plug...etc)
Is that a reasonable quote? or it would be cheaper if I purchase the parts and take the car to a local garage ?
if the second option is good, can any one recommend me for a local garage in Denver or Boulder areas? and what is the reasonable labor cost for that service?
Thanks in advance

It is definitely cheaper if you buy parts by yourself and go to a local garage.
check with https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=763444; for the kit.
you might want to look for a mechanic specializing in Acuras (and/or Honda)
I talked to a private guy who gave me a great deal in salt lake city. he's doing all for ~200 bucks.
Don't know whats average price for it.
Also, if you are a DIY kinda guy, do perform SeaFoam treatment before changing plugs. that stuff is really good.

Schomp Honda in Littleton has a timing belt special for $599 through 1/31/12. They said they work on Acuras.

Gonna get this done soon even though I only have 90k since the prices out here are outrageous.

Just had the service done at Schomp Honda and wanted to update as to what's included. For $599 they replaced the timing belt, water pump, cam/crankshaft oil seals, all drive belts and replacement coolant. The timing belt tensioner was an additional $132. Also got a free wash and rental car. Not a bad deal IMO. Runs through 01/31/12, but I saw the same deal expired on 11/31/11, so it may run past that. Also nice to have the only Acura in the service bay =P
