Thanks for the review..

So, reading the label a little closer, and Brett C is "Brettanomyces claussenii", a type of yeast. That made me dial back my spite for whoever the hell Brett is because it's not a person. Still... that was not a beer that I am in a hurry to try again. Which was disappointing because it really looks and smells like it should be great. But was more in line with sucking on a gym sock; and that's not one of my favorite things.

Made "from scratch" or did you buy a recipe kit?
In a few weeks....

I need to purchase a beer brewing kit. I had one that was stuck in a basement flood in our rental a few year ago. Decided to chuck it since who know what kinds of nasty crap got into it.

Nice Ack!

So what are you brewing next. I know you can't wait to start the third batch.

Opened up another one of my New Belgium Blackberry Barleywines while watching the Avs lose yet another game. Only have 2 more left. Will be sad if they don't make more of it this year. Not sure if it was only a once and done.

Third batch I made a small batch (1 gallon) of barley wine that's been fermenting for 2.5 weeks, going to bottle this weekend. I have a ton of stuff queued up, just have to decide what order I want to do. I have a large batch double IPA and pale ale, and a small batch of a Pliney the Elder clone, and some others. Just need to find a day or two to really dedicate to brewing a number of things

Bottled my Barley Wine yesterday, tasted a sample, it's going to be damn good and really strong. I also tried my hand at wine making, I made a small 1 gallon batch of Pinot Noir and Chardonay which is starting to ferment now. Here's a picture of the Chardonay

Tried Fin Du Monde on tap last Friday because it was free (I know it's been mentioned here). I had no idea what to expect, but it just seemed like a good Hefeweizen to me. If you were new to Hefeweizens, I could see being impressed, but with the German influence we have in Texas, good hefeweizens are a dime a dozen. Good, but lots of comparable options here.

La Fin Du Monde is great.. freaking canucks got it right on that one (or should I say Japs ).
I first had it a few years ago at Crown and Anchor. They usually have a decent selection.
Barkeep was like.. try this. It's stocked at most HEBs and definitely at Specs. It's my favorite unibrow (cough*sapporro*ahem), sorry Frida.
btw it's a trip golden ale.

LFDM is a good beer, good not great. Back before crafts really took off it was a good option, but it's been far surpassed since then and there are tons like spy mentioned. unibrow has some decent stuff, but I haven't seen any new releases from them and kind of forgot about them to be honest

My local go to bottle shop has been getting a lot of my favorite Ashville brewery Burial lately. I can't help myself but to pickup some of everything they have from them so my collection has grown a bit lately. My latest pickup was this.

I stole this picture of it. As it was dark out when I had it so I couldn't grab a good one and the kitchen was a mess.

Extremely light at only 4% compared to what I drink most of the time but extremely big on flavor. I wouldn't mind having an entire case of this for when I just wanted something lighter. I have a problem of most of the things I normally drink being on the heavier or higher alcohol side so if I want something light and refreshing I normal don't have anything. Will definitely be looking to pickup a few more. Need to get one or maybe two of those awesome glasses when I am there next time as well.

Oh and Ack when are we planning a weekend trip to Ashville for breweries?

Made a Sierra Nevada inspired beer this past weekend, thinking it will be my best one yet

Lots of hoppy goodness in this one!

Also checked my Chardonay and Pinot Noir, they're both fermenting well and are about half way through the process, also made a Moscato on Friday night to get ready for my sister's bday next month. Hope they all turn out good!
