I've never heard of it but it got some good reviews on Beer Advocate, sounds tastey

Since someone just reminded me of this thread, thought it might be time for a bump... here's what's been in there this week:

Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock
Weyerbacher: Imperial Pumpkin, Blithering Idiot, Merry Monks, Double Simcoe IPA, Old Heathen (my current favorite micro company - waiting patiently for the oak aged seasonals)
Breckenridge Pale Ale
Unibroue La Fin Du Monde

Tried to get some of my seasonal favorite Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, but they were already out when I stopped by the Rehoboth distributor 2 weeks ago.

The new alehouse in Falls Church is all out on tap for the season already too!

I actually have no beer in my fridge at the moment. Looks like it went the way of half my furniture.

Dogfish Punkin sells out fast every year, but I did snag one from a bottle shop. All their stuff is good. Haven't tried the 120 yet - isn't that over 20% abv?

Anyone heard of Heffenweiser or Heferwizen or whatever? Had a tall one at D&B's the other day, it was served with a lemon slice in it, it was great. I need to know where these are sold at...

Some nasty Heinekens in storage right now...

Hefeweisen - it's a type of beer, not a brand.

Hefeweizen (German for Heavy Wheat) is a type of beer, not a brand. The most common one in bars these days is Franziskaner. I'm guessing that's what you had. I'd also recommend Palaner Hefeweizen, which is fairly common too.

Tis the season... I recently brought these home form the local bottle shop:

Rogue Stanta's Reserve
Great Lakes Christmas
Anderson Valley Winter Solstice
Erie Ol' Red
Weyerbacher Winter Ale
Dogfish Head Chicory Stout

to go with my annual case of Anchor Christmas Ale. Troeg's Mad Elf coming soon...

I remember getting a hold of some Anchor Christmas Porter in 1977, 1978. Boy was that good. And you had know someone who knew someone.

I've got some Woodchuck Cider, some Dogfish 90 minute Imperial IPA, and some Pyramid Apricot Weizen. Never a dull moment.
