What musical instruments can you play?

When I was a kid I had to learn piano due to the folks.

Since then, I've tried my had at the trombone in school and now for the last few years guitar.

Use to play the recorder in elementary (does that count) and trumpet in highschool. I was horribly bad. Have not picked up an instrument since.

Everybody wanted to be in a band back was I was in highschool. Pearl Jam was all the rage so copy cat grundge bands were popping up all over the place.

They all sucked which was unfortunate........for them of course.

I remember a time when I had to write a poem and my English teacher was way out there. So I handed in a version of Pearl Jam's "Jeremy", it had great lyrics and she had no clue what it was. Got a pretty good mark too if I recall.

I liked Pearl Jam, just did'nt want to be them.

Piano, clarinet, flute, though I haven't played either of the last two for nearly ten years and I haven't touched my piano in over a year.

I don't play any instruments, but I'm sure I could teach ladies how to play the "nose flute" well. . . It takes a lot of practice to get good.

I play the stereo.

Actually, I took piano lessons for many years as a kid, but never really kept up with it after about 7th grade. A few years ago, I started to play harmonica just for fun. I enjoy it, but John Popper has nothing to worry about.

I played a pretty mean saxophone as a younger man; I can play piano (poorly) and clarinet (moderately) as well. A sax is on my 'need to purchase again' list

I played the trumpet in jr. high and was pretty damn good at it. I won an award and was 1st chair in the school band. I didn't attempt to play in highschool since I was a multi-sport athlete and since have never picked up a trumpet again. Now-a-days, I just play my acoustic guitar but really want to get an electric so I can jam out to all my favorite songs.

I was musically challenged so the recorder was one of the few things I could claim I played. Why do you think I got relegated the clarinet?

Hey, how did you go about learning to play the guitar?

I want to learn, but haven't gotten my lazy arse off the computer chair to actually do it.

Did you just get a cheap guitar to start off with, or something decent? Did you take lessons or just go by books?

Learned from a guy I was in a band with. He taught me some basics, then I bought charts and sheet music.

Interesting. Did you find it hard to learn?

I have a co-worker who says he's willing to teach me the basics.
