I took a Mediterranean cruise with Celebrity. That one was a lot of fun.

went from Barcelona > Nice > Florence > Rome > Naples > Montenegro > Croatia > Venice.

Hit Philly this weekend. Lots of history, art, and eats. We stayed a block away from City Hall which was beautiful and ate like pigs. Tried both Pats and Genos but preferred Geno's. We'll try one of the local spots next time. Nice 2 day trip except for the rain/snowstorm that I had to drive through getting back to NY. Shot out to the NJ drivers though. No tomfoolery nor asswipes using hazards.

How about Charleston?

I haven't yet been called "boy" when I was in one of the southern states, but I do have Asian friends who got some semi-racist remarks made towards them while they were in Austin. Kinda surprising, and sad.

In all seriousness, there's whole regions of the US that I would never, ever consider moving to no matter what the situation. As diverse as this country is, there are many parts where there are a number of factors that would work against you.

Racist are everywhere and sometimes it does not even make sense.

I once had a full truck load of Mexicans (early 90s Toyota pickup, you know the typical kind) screaming at me to go back to China.... I did not even know how to respond to that....

I spent many summers at Atokad Downs in South Sioux City, NE while my dad trained and raced his thoroughbreds. It’s been many years since I’ve visited a racing grandstand. That one looks beautiful.

Got approved for TSA Precheck and Global Entry. How are your experiences with them? Customs agent told me that Precheck doesn't allow your passengers to enter with you but I've heard otherwise.

My precheck expires 2021, thinking of doing global entry next time since it includes precheck

Nope, each person in your itinerary must have their own KTN (Known Traveler Number) to be allowed precheck. Although sometimes even those don't pay for precheck may get it randomly.

Confirmed... you should do this.. Precheck 85, GLobal Entry 100.. it's really a no-brainer.

Super easy experience.

It's amazing to skip past the long line when you re-enter US and get whisked to a lane with 0-1 person and you pretty get out of the airport super fast. Highly recommended. Be prepared for many jealous eyes looking at you as you skip past so many people in line....lol

Also there is a huge loop hole in Pre-Check system. EVERY time I've flown with my wife or friends or mom, none of them have Pre-Check, but if I buy the itineraries....then they ALL get pre-check on boarding passes too. It's amazing how consistent that is. Seems like a massive security hole but oh well....

GE is no brainer.

If you get certain higher tier credit cards, GE is free too (aka my Chase Sapphire Reserve)

That is why i have not gotten my global entry yet. I travel with my GF and she does not want to go through the process.

So there is no point for me to get it if all i get to do with the time saved is wait for her outside

My whole family was randomly selected for pre-check before, 4 of us. I guess the random precheck was based on how the tickets were booked - if they were booked together or not.
I was not impressed by that one time tho because there was no line anyway at Long beach airport

Agreed. GE doesn't carry over to family/friends. So just as you said, useless to have to wait for the other people anyway. I just paid for wife's GE so mine is actually useful...which was already paid for with my chase card....so with we basically got 2 GE for price of 1....

I don’t have GE but on my most recent trip back from Japan (October 2018) the US Citizens line for immigration at SFO was ridiculously short. I passed thru in 6 minutes.

Couldve been even shorter but the agent was typing away on his keyboard like how that Airline agent did in the movie meet the parents

Noice.

My brother in law and his buddies are going to Japan for first time this November. Wife and I may join them for part of time....because Japan.

Maybe we'll try to hit up Jiro! But some ppl say that's overrated?.....

Vietnam trip coming up in April for another friend's wedding. Should be fun, first time for me being in SE Asia.

Similar thing happened to me. I'm the only one who has Global Entry and was traveling with the Mrs., my daughter and two of her friends. They all got precheck to Cancun and back presumably because of me and because all tickets were purchased on the same itinerary / record locator. The Mrs has since gotten Global Entry..

Going to Reno for a weekend within 2 weeks. Have a rental car and staying at Grand Sierra Resort.
I have never been to Reno. Dont expect it to be like Vegas but at least i can say i have been to Reno even if i wont like it.

Any good spots to visit at Lake Tahoe area within reasonable driving distance? Not planning to snowboard.

I haven't been during the warmer times but I heard the lake area around Tahoe is really nice. There's also a lot of eye candy.

Last time I went to Reno I went to Toucan Charlie's. Not on the same level of Vegas buffets, but pretty good. Expect a very long line though, we waited about 45 mins to get in.

There are also natural hot springs, but it's been warming up here. Which one is best depends on how far you're willing to drive and what you're looking for
