Television: Preacher

Finally got a premiere date! Sunday May 22!

This show could be awesome. The darkness could put TWD to shame.

Anyone else read the comics?

Been waiting for this one. One of my favorite series. Huge Ennis fan.

We shall see how it differs from the original material. They have changed a lot, with the blessing of Ennis.

Well it's pretty insane material so I imagine they'd have to change a bit... This could easily be a Netflix show.

Years ago...like 8-9 another small company shot a pilot for HBO. Never saw the light of day. There were glimpses of the Arseface make up. I had worked on another movie with the FX company that did it.

First 4 minutes of the premier can be found on AMC website. Looks pretty solid so far. Fingers crossed!

We watched it last night. Loved it! Unique in a lot of ways. The action sequences were very well done. I laughed a few times. The casting is excellent.

I knew I recognized the preachers 'assistant'. Always thought she was a hottie!

Nora from like S6 of True Blood...

I'm still enjoying it. But I agree with ign that at half way through the season it's time to pay of a storyline or two. At least start to get them to gel more.

Other wise im in to it. They are making it their own.

1. The look and feel of this show are awesome
2. The casting is pretty dang good especially for Cassidy
3. More of the historical storyline please!
4. You can tell it's been a slow burner but I have a feeling shit's about to hit the fan

The wife and I like it...

differences from the comics.
It was a comic?
It's a little slow but watchable.

I've got a whole new respect for Dominic Cooper. To me he was young Howard Stark from Capt. America. His acting chops are so good that it took me 5 episodes to realize the preacher and young Howard Stark are the same person.

Yes its based off an insanely good and crazy comic. I had not read a comic in years and a coworker gave me this one to check out and i read every single one in a matter of a few weeks.

I think they are taking their time with building up to things but trust me the story line has plenty to work with that they've barely tapped into yet.

Interesting that in the show the word of God can actually send someone to Hell. Preacher never had that level of power in the comics...

I never read the comics so I am totally unsure on that's happening in the show, even after 3 episodes. But I will watch a few more and give it a chance just because Dominic Cooper is awesome and the vampire is funny

I liked scenes from the pilot but, my fault, I didnt pay enough attention and because of that didn't like it.

Decided one night to watch the Talking Preacher for the pilot and after listening to them chat about it it made me really want to try it again. Loved it the second time. lol

Watched EP2-8 in the last few days. Can't wait for more.

if there is one thing that i find lacking that was huge in the comics is the love that preacher and tulip have for each other. in the show the preacher seems absolutely void of any feelings for tulip.

I love a lot about this show. Its keeping me coming back week after week. But it has to be the slowest burn ever. Things are happening yet nothing is happening at all.

2 episodes left, and there has been almost no payoff with any of the story lines. We got two awesome glimpses at the Killer of all Saints, and then he disappears. I know he comes back from the previews but damn.

This show is almost as frustrating as it is entertaining.

Started watching season 1 on Hulu last night. 1st half of episode 1 was kind of boring. Glad I made it through as that's where I found it to start getting interesting.

Saw that season 2 started on Sunday. Need to catch up.

1st 2 episodes of season 2 can be streamed at Preacher Season, Episode and Cast Information - AMC . . . . no log in required.
