I'd say you are correct about "the mask". I think a lot of characters will be changed when it comes to age. Hard making every villain a child maybe.
Zasaz for example should be younger. When batman fight him I even thought he was younger than Bruce in the comics.
As for the clip we saw of dent. I thought dent and Bruce were of similar age not 10 years apart.
Works fine for me though.

We also saw Hush. The young boy Bruce beat up. Tommy Elliot.

It would be so cool of they brought in Raas with the same actor as in Arrow. Show people how long the fucker has reigned supreme. I know they wont. Conflicting studios and all. Would just be cool.

Yeah, the ages are a bit messed up IMO...but, whatever...it's working more or less so far.

I'm assuming we'll see Elliot try to kill his parents at some point...is this why he asked Bruce what it was like to see his folks get murdered?

Also, kinda hardcore that Bruce beat up Elliot with a Rolex.

Tommy Elliot was supposed to Bruce's good childhood friend prior to becoming a villain. They basically just made him a dickhead from the get go.

This was another solid episode, they are finally starting to leave behind the filler and the painful and obvious shout outs. I hope it keeps on this direction.

Barbara has become a waste. Hopefully they keep playing this "I love you, Im leaving" game over and over again. Its already old.

Oswald continues to be the strongest and most interesting character. His strength when Mooney stabbed him in the hand shows his progress and his cold calculation.

The 2nd best scene was Bruce beating up Tommy, with Alfred backing him and agreeing to mentor him.

THIS is the Bruce we should be seeing...an angry child looking for an outlet. Not a detective...he is a kid, he isn't there yet.

Two solid episodes in a row...hope they keep it going.

Pretty much agreed with Pit-Fangs here. I'm kinda wondering what they intend to do with Selina Kyle though.

I figure Selina will get more tangled in Gotham trying to help where she can as well tangled with Bruce as a love interest.

I'm interested where the take Edward.

LOL As for Pit-Fangs post I agree as well. I was going to make a near exact comment about Barbra. The female wanting to help the male cop routine is old. It was a big part of SoA for a few seasons.

I kind of think Falcone was speaking about the League of Shadows in last week's episode when he mentioned how there's stuff out there.....I can't remember the line. Anyways it's strange that Selena was put out there with all the initial posters and promotion and she hasn't been on the show much lately until Monday's.

Dang nice mid-season finale. Lots of action and much more respect for Alfred. Plus the flirtation between Bruce and Selina has certainly begun. I'm invested.

I ran into some old friends. One brought up walking dead so I asked if they watch the comic book shows. One guy one girl, not a couple, said their order is Gotham> Flash> Arrow. I am pretty much the opposite thinking arrow is the best then flash then gotham. Though gotham is picking up and I find flash a little corny. Love them all but certainly not in the order they gave. Found that interesting. Neither grew up with comics they just enjoy the shows.

Not bad. Will be interesting to see how the story arc goes with Gordon doing his stint over at Arkham as a security guard.

Obviously, I'm thinking we won't see The Joker as he was "created" around the time Bruce was already Batman...but, it'd be neat to see other characters.

I believe a few characters are already put of place with their timing in the batman comics timeline. So they may very well attempt to do a small toll with joker. Or they may be steering clear of villains like joker and bane. Gave we seen scarecrow?

I would be interested in them adding a Harley Quinn while she was working in the arkham looney bin. They don't even have to make her take the mantle as Harley Quinn either. I forgot her name off the top of my head.

Harleen Quinzel, I believe. And Crane could very well be at Arkham already...

But Harleen would be younger than Bruce no? She's supposedly normal at this point. At least we got Poison Ivy around and "she's crazy"

OT but I saw the first half hour of the Arrow/Flash co-op before leaving to the gym last night. Pretty cool but even with Jesse Martin (Law & Order) the show did seem a little cheesy compared to Gotham but I won't base a full opinion off 30 minutes. Luckily Gotham has serious characters like Falcone and Bullock.

Correct, she was an intern or something when The Joker messed her mind up?

But, as it was said by others, the timelines in here are kinda skewed in this show.

Arrow and Flash are both have a lot more cheese than Gotham. I enjoy all three. Arrow is my favorite, probably because they have more seasons and I am more invested in the show. Couple enjoyable characters have already been offed.

Flash is a big cheese puff. Almost too much for me but I do enjoy the Flash character and the first two episodes held my attention far better than Shield did.

Gotham is just slow for me. Episodes are either alright or slow. Maybe one GOOD one so far with that last one. I do enjoy these characters but I am not as invested in them as I am Oliver, Thea, and Smoak.

I don't watch Arrow, but I DO watch this show AND The Flash, I like this show better... it's more dark, no one has any powers, like it was made for adult viewing...

Same here. I tried to watch Arrow when it first was on TV but gave up after a few episodes...

Most peeps say it is much better if I gave it more of a chance...which is why I'm still watching The Flash because honestly, I don't find The Flash that great.

I'm enjoying Gotham but it's still a glorified cop show set in a comic world I know...nothing really wrong with that since Batman really is just a Detective who knows and stuff.

I didn't see it yet either but during Sunday NFL they put out a commercial as if it were Penguin-centric.

Not penguin centric at all.

All it did was further dilute the show. New main characters, new main locations...while trying to balance all the stuff we've already seen.

It wasn't a terrible episode...though the Barbara stuff as usual was crap and its only getting worse. Which means the Cat/Ivy stuff was also worthless.

The whole Fish Mooney/power grab is getting stale, too. Every week she bitches about the same thing, with no progress, shit or get off the pot.

The only thing they didn't try and cram into this week was Bruce.

Im still watching...but the show is not progressing well.

It wasn't great but I suppose we could say to Mrs. Will Smith.

I found her mannerisms on the show getting annoying.

That was kinda pointless. So, her lesbian lover is not working and now, she's moving in with her parents who appear to have written her out of their lives...

Gordon has apparently moved on to Inara Serra (Firefly quip)...

I follow a group on facebook that posted about that scene prior to the episode airing so I was expecting it. They explained that it was supposed to give a glimps as to where Barbra came from. A family she desperately wanted to accept her but they never quite did.

It was an unmemorable scene and not enough if they want to claim it was a back story for Barbra. Bring on Inara. She's sexy.

Anyone still watching this?

While many of the current episodes have had some strong or enjoyable elements...I still think the show is tanking.

Even the Penguin is becoming one note and drawn out with same repetitive schtick.

I think the producers agree they need ratings..so now we'll start seeing elements of The Joker at the end of the season...that is desperate cry imo. They keep having to rely on old cannon since they can't figure out how to make a good idea of a show actually work.

Its like "Better Call Saul"...the creator/producer said NO Walter White or Jesse Pinkman in the first season because they want the show to stand on its own 2 feet. And if they ever had to rely on that gimmick to attract viewers he would just quit now.

Still am...

It was not a horrid episode and I kinda wanted to see the Penguin get his just punishment from a clearly livid Linguini. It was a bit oh-really that he was able to get out of getting crushed with that phone call to the machine operator...but, I guess he needs to live.

The show is interesting as it does delve into the background/roots of many of Gotham's characters but you are correct, not sure how long they can sustain this...

Still, if I had to pick between this and The Flash, I'd say Gotham is a bit more enjoyable. I'm still not really connecting well with the characters overall in the Speedy Gonzalez show and don't find many of the main characters that...likeable? Dunno...probably just me.

I'll say this: both DC shows I'm taking in are nowhere near as entertaining or engaging (for me) as TWD or Hannibal (which I think is delayed until mid-summer)...

I would disagree. I think the Flash is setting up WAY more interesting characters and more relatable ones as well.

Hell, Dr. Wells is brilliantly played by Tom Cavanagh...who shown he well beyond just being great at comedy. He alone is worth the price of admission.

Gotham is feeling stale right now.

Well, I'm giving both of these shows a real good try this time...and not giving up on them so early like Arrow and S.H.I.E.L.D.

I dunno, if I had gripes to summarize for the 2 shows, they are as follows:
- Penguin is beginning to feel annoying and the sniveling, begging act of his is kinda just not what I'm used to. Then again, all iterations of the Penguin I know from the animated shows and even the video games has a ruthless, cackling old man. So, really...apples and oranges probably.
- Fish's finger-waving act and mannerisms are also kinda old. I get it's the persona for the show but, would've preferred something else?

For the Flash, I think my problem with the actor for Barry was that I had the horrid mistake of seeing him in "Glee" and well, that show has scarred me for life in the worst of ways. I am completely with you that Tom Cavanagh is great and even like Jesse Martin as Joe. It's kinda the rest of the cast that doesn't do anything for me...maybe it's their look and again, mannerisms?

Don't mind me...just nitpicking. I'm still watching both shows.
