People pass judgement beforehand for a lot of reasons. Here you don't even have to step past the channel it's on, FOX.

What has FOX done (non-comedy), sans 24 and maybe House, in the past decade that has any value whatsoever?

As usual though the idea is there it just needs executed correctly.

I'm not holding my breath for the flash. I watched the pilot. Very childish I thought in comparison to arrow which is already pretty CW-fied.

I do like arrow thouth. Flash I'll watch but didn't catch my interest like arrow.

I'm hoping Gotham will be edgier and be the nob city I never got but with a DC twist.

I liked Fringe and like Sleepy Hollow. Unfortunately, Alcatraz and Almost Human were cancelled, but I thought they were good shows.

Gotham sounds interesting.

Another +1 to Sleepy Hollow and Almost Human - *especially* Almost Human. Damn shame AH only got one season.

Not bad. Got better toward the end. Probably helped that I had no expectations going in too.

I wanted to watch Almost Human. I like those two actors and I love sci-fi but it just smelled like cancellation considering Fox's past.

Is this series mainly going to focus on the development of the bad guys and Gordan? No Batman?

Finally watched it. I like the scope they tried to reach visually with the sweeping wide shots showing a vast cityscape. Making Gotham a character in the show itself. The production design was immense, and I liked the cinematography a lot. There were some shots I felt were out of place such as the go pro/whatever camera mounted on Gordon as chased the guy.

Cobblepot is the breakout star of the episode. Followed by Donal Logue's Bullock.

Sadly...it still looks and feels like a network TV show...and Im sure this pilot had a ton of money thrown at it, and I'll be curious if the series can keep up the grandiose visuals.

Yeah she was. It is similar to how Rha Al Ghul's daughter was made up (Miranda Tate) in TDKR. It is to present a new character/element to the storyline.

Love the series so far.

Ummmm...Talia Al Ghul has been around for a long ass time dude. Way before Dark Knight Rises. And the actress was Marion Cotillard.

True, but the Talia in DKR bears almost no resemblance to the comic book version.

Correct. She is a clever way to bring Cobblepot into the crime world. Since Cobblepots background is pretty vague. It simply explains his connection with the umbrella and his disfigurement but not quite how he became a crime lord. So Mooney is an "established" crime lord already showing Cooblepot the ropes.

My question is, will she stick around or be off'd soon?

No, she didn't...bad casting there, great actress...but not Talia Al Ghul.

Det Montoya sucks. I can't stand the actress playing her. obnoxious.

The most interesting part of this show remains to be cobblepot. Everythign else is just meh.

I for one am enjoying it.
Yes penguin is the star so far but I enjoy every time we see edward and selena.
As well I think the conversations between Gordon and Bruce and great.
I think they are doing a good job creating background to show why Batman always held such high respect for Gordon.

Bruce asking if Gordan thought the city could be saved was great. That just felt like the making of the Batman.

Yeah Cob's definitely the best character. Very smart and calculating. Gordon and Bullock's relationship interests me as well. Mooney annoys me even though it's cool to see her kiss chicks. Who was the dude in the prison? Deathstroke?

Nevermind. The dude in prison is someone they made for the show called Minks. Too stupid to be Slade anyways since he's in jail. However I did notice that in the credits Victor Zsasz has been in this show as well as a young Harvey Dent. When?

Woops my bad. Never noticed her in the comics then. Miranda Tate is Talia's other name in TDKR. I wasn't talking about her IRL name.

I want to say it was a better episode. and in some ways it was...but the "pre-venom" storyline...once again they are unleashing something decades, too soon.
