I totally agree - that scene was priceless. And the leg crunching at the end....

So my wife thinks that McKean's character is Saul's brother. Was that obvious somewhere, or are we supposed to just put that together?

I thought it was made pretty clear, if not stated outright. I'm not under the impression that the relationship could be anything other than brothers.

Yeah it was confirmed by deduction. He talked to the head of the firm about his brother going back, then he talked to Chuck at his house to go back immediately after. Pretty sure he has alzheimer's or dementia. Not sure you can get better from that but Jimmy can't tell him that either. His bro not freaking out is more important than the money which is another reason to like Saul/Jimmy. Plus he makes great Cinnamon buns

Don't think it's AZ or dementia. I think it's just mental, he's afraid of technology.., electromagnetic waves.

But they keep saying getting better. How can someone be that paranoid without mental illness? Were those diseases not known as well in the early 2000's?

"Not a good lawyer? I just got your life sentence reduced to six months probation!"

Prob not the exact quote, but still hilarious.

I didn't watch them either, until just now. I should've done that before watching the first two episodes. It definitely helps you understand what's going on.

The episodes stand on their own. I'll take the plot revelations at the pace intended by the screenwriters.

Mental illness is also bipolar and depression, paranoia. One can get better with therapy and meds.

Considering the brother isn't in Breaking Bad I'll go out on a limb and say he will dead by the end of the season. Once the brother is gone Saul can be born.

Anyone think episode 3 was a snooze fest? Definite step backward from episode 2. Hope it's just temporary.

Yeah it was slow. I knew pretty much exactly what the family did as soon as the next day started unfolding. Good to see the relationship with Mike moving forward.

I think I'd prefer binge watching this over once a week. Just dump the entire season on netflix already

I'll catch Monday's tomorrow night. I've noticed Comcrap loads OnDemand shows with ads for those who watch within the first 24 hours or so. It turned a 68-minute long (with commercials) episode of Top Gear into a 90-minute episode.

Episode 7:

Liked a lot of elements of this episode, but my wife and I are trying to figure out something. It may be an Easter egg, or maybe foreshadowing, or maybe nothing.

Here's what we thought we saw - thoughts?
-------------
We thought that third guy shown on the wanted poster (the big guy with the grey center patch in an otherwise black beard) showed up again at about 31:00 in the bathroom when Saul was taking Kim's call. It looks like it might be the same guy, but its hard to tell because you can't see them side by side.

I kept dozing off last night watching it, I was so tired. Can someone help me fill in the gaps. I'll post below in white:

I think I started dozing when the couple fired the female lawyer because they didn't want to settle. I saw them speak to Saul. The wife played dumb about the money. Saul sent Mike to steal it. Cool break in scene! Saul met with them again, no money. I think they agreed to a deal. Saul went back to the nice office I think realizing he wasn't getting it since he sent them back to Kim. He takes a call in British guy voice. Credits

EDIT: I read a wikipedia and didn't realize Kim got demoted. Also didn't know he sent the money to the DA.

^ My small additions below:

When the couple fired Kim and went back to Saul, he tried tell them no and for them to go back and accept the deal. The couple made the point that part of the deal was to return all the money, which included the $30K they gave Saul. So Saul was stuck working with them because he had some of their money. Mike stole it, but one key part of that was Saul returned the $30K as well, so the money would be all there. He then had it sent to the DA so he forced their hand to accept the deal. Kim did get demoted for a time, but I think got back in good standing when Saul forced them to return to her and complete the deal. Also, he didn't lose the office just because he sent them back, he lost it because he also returned the $30K.

Can't recall if these two scenes happened before or after the point where the couple fired Kim, but just in case:

One important scene in the end had to do with Mike. The police in town are going to interview his daughter in law. Mike's friend advised him that if she simply didn't offer any new information the case would be closed. Mike declined to go have that talk with her - he said what she told the police was her decision and he "owed her that much". So Mike's fate hangs in the balance of what she says, but that won't get touched on again until next episode I think.

One opther scene worth mentioning is Saul dropped off a bunch of files to his brother's house claiming he had no room to store them. However what he was really doing was enticing his brother to start looking at cases again, which he started doing.

I think that covers it.

Thanks. Yeah I saw the last 2 parts pretty vividly since they occurred early in the ep. I didn't realize Saul lost his bribe money. We all know he ends up in the office in the minimall with the Consitituion in the backdrop (God I love that cheesiness ) but the question is was that by choice or is he already sitting on $$.
