Just to be clear, you're talking about suicide right?
Again, let's not attribute mental illness to violence

The question is what do you think should be done...

Column A and column B

Also as some have mentioned, the media isn't helping this at all.

Of course. Don't know all the details but supposedly this guy had an undiagnosed mental illness.

He was taking medication for anxiety. I don't think that should make somebody ineligible to buy a gun, but I know there is some concern with that.

i don't read good and stuffs.

anyways, that would be my answer.

no reason to memorialize THAT asshole.
let people walk, shit, puke and fuck over his final resting place.

Now if a bunch of innocent people were murdered inside that suite, then I'd say close it off.

I see keeping the room in business as memorializing him in some way. Cultish freaks and shitbirds will probably try to rent his room. I can see some dipshits posting room tours to get adrev on YouTube. Using the space to memorialize the victims might be a way to neutralize that type of bullshit and celebrate the lives we should be giving attention to.

IMHO, I think the hotel isn't going to want a constant reminder of what happened in a way that would draw that kind of attention. I wouldn't want a room that reminded tourists "this is where 58 people like you died." I think Vegas wants to get back to being Vegas after an appropriate morning period. If it were me, I'd make it a store room or offices, and maybe go with a plaque or monument in the lobby honoring the victims.

Assuming this timeline is correct, why was the guard there 6 minutes before the shooting started .... just prowling the halls? ..... had info about a/the gunman? .... playing ding-dong-ditch?

From my understanding, the room security guard was there due to an internal hotel alarm going off (cause not specified yet) that may have been caused by the windows being broken or from the drilling in the walls for the cameras. Security went to check it out and got shot, then relayed the room info to PD. What I am unsure about is why PD didn't have the exact room number ASAP as the security guard reported it. Why was PD on the 31st floor not the 32nd?

I remember they said the guest who was staying right below that fucker reported to the police and he was staying on the 31st.

I think that is why they went to 31st first.

So i think bascially there were 2 different teams that had gone to the hotel at different times... 1 went to 31st first then another went to 32nd directly.

I was wondering about that! This makes sense....

Maybe communication got garbled about the floor or the room...? If the guard was being shot at, I can see making that kind of mistake.

The Mandalay Bay security guard who disappeared last week moments before he was scheduled to break his silence in television interviews has not been heard from since he went to a walk-in health clinic, his union president said.

With regard to the confusion over the timeline, I am befuddled as to how it has not been totally reconciled yet.

However, it bears mentioning that during an event like this, the level of confusion, conflicting information and unrelated/distracting communications is truly astounding.

I think that the 9-1-1 call takers and ESPECIALLY the dispatchers handling this scene deserve a serious pat on the back for 'just doing their job'...

I simply cannot begin to explain how difficult it is to sit in a communication center listening to officers and the public screaming about being shot at from 34 different directions, and be able to put aside the fact that (a) the dispatchers probably have friends/relatives/coworkers attending the event, (b) have to assimilate and provide clear and concise info, (c) route responding assets to the correct locations, (d) check in on EVERY officer over the air at set/regular intervals, and (e) remain completely calm and effective, and do their jobs effectively.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for anyone who can handle the job of police dispatcher, and after listening to the radio traffic posted previously, I think these dispatchers deserve some recognition...

Smells awful fishy that the one witness who might know the real story magically vanished...

Speaking of PTSD after this event, my wife heard about a lady in the same MLM company as her who was at the event and managed to escape unharmed. However, she had a history of epilepsy, and the trauma of the event caused her unusual seizures in the following days. She died in her sleep eight days later at the age of 28.

I think all this confusion is Mandalay Bay trying to hedge their liabilities.
Like trying to prove they did their due dilligence, and any fault otherwise was out of their control.
So said security guard disappearing.. I'm willing to bet Mandalay Bay had something to do with it.

I don't think there is anything sinister going on with the guard.

He just had a near-death experience. He had 50+ people and 500+ wounded "on his watch" - no telling what kind of guilt this guy is carrying around right now. Maybe there's something he should have done and didn't. Maybe there's something he could have done and didn't. That's enough to break a lot of people. Mandalay Bay is probably coaching him to collect himself first before going in front of a camera - also to make sure he's in a state of mind to stay on script to avoid liability.
