Saintor hit with a 30-day ban; how long until permanent?

So, it seems our resident perm-a-troll named Saintor has gotten his knickers in a twist in the form of a 30-day ban.
Having run across the above post I found myself wondering how long after the ban ends before he gets the ban upgraded to a perm-a-ban.

Does the poll start from today or from when his ban ends?

TBH, I'm absolutely shocked people actually take the time to respond to SSFTSX. That guy, while not the most factually agreeable poster, I haven't seen him resort to any personal/ad hominen attacks. Saintor on the other hand...seems like he lets AZ get under his skin a bit too much. I know the "good ol boys" of AZ can sling shit around a bit, and that can make some people a bit too un-nerved. Need a thicker skin for the interwebz.

Why would SSFTSX be banned? He's odd and annoying, but he's not caustic, insulting and confrontational.

From my perspective, because Saintor has been allowed to rum amok for so long I was surprised he finally got a ban; I'm thinking (hoping?) this thread may serve as a nudge to the moderation staff to make the ban permanent.

Do what I did. I used to tolerate him and sometimes I still get into it with him, but it's easier for everyone if you report him.

I report him any time he insults someone. I feel bad report spamming but the Mods can do their job.

But seriously, this is Robert. He goes after anyone for any reason. You like a 2.0T? You're an idiot. You like a DCT? You're an idiot. You like German cars? You're an idiot (Note: Saintor is going to replace his TLX with a 340i. No one tell him his car is German)

Maybe we should all just block him?

It makes the threads hard to read, though.

I dunno. When I blocked him, it was like "Oh look, a civil conversation" and all of a sudden "Saintor is on your ignored list" and then everyone gets real angry.

Can't someone just make a new user account if theirs gets banned? I guess you'd have to start your thread post count over again.

Disclaimer, I'm not a moderator here, however, I am a mod on a number of other automotive related forums; long story short, the answer to your question is "yes". That said, it is pretty easy to scrutinize the IP addresses used by a new suspect user id and compare it to the list of addresses used by the previously banned ID.

True story, we had a really bad actor, pretty much in the same mold as Saintor years ago, he'd go twenty or more posts, all of which were helpful; then things would go downhill fast, we'd then warn him, he'd clean his act up, and then start the cycle all over again. I banned him the first time after nearly one-thousand posts (and numerous warnings). He rejoined and behaved for about fifty posts before his true colors started to show, I checked, found a high incidence of IP address matches, and banned him again. He rejoined maybe a dozen times from his original address range and, since I was on the lookout, I was usually able to ban him before he'd even made a single post. He then tried an approach where he signed up for a proxy service; it took a week or two to smoke him out again, and once the proxy service was identified, I was once again able to drop the Ban Hammer on him almost immediately. He finally gave up after burning through something like thirty User Ids.

As much as I try to avoid serious discussions in Ramblings, everyone should read the rule book that was thrown at Saintor. If you’re not in Ramblings, you should be aware of these guidelines. https://acurazine.com/forums/automot...d-them-974527/

tl;dr Creating a new account while serving a ban is an automatic permaban.

We should probably ban OP for not including Whiskers
and for comparing other much more prominent auto forums like BuickPages to Acurazine

BTW, I thought https://www.trabantforums.com was a very prominent automotive fourm.
