The same cats who I feed, change their shitter, and when I'm laying on the couch they run to me to pet are scared shitless of me when I walk around.

Are they outdoor cats or do they always stay inside? Cats (just like dogs) can have very different personalities.

My last cat would greet me when I came home, follow me around, and usually showed up when summoned. She trusted me implicitly. I never scared or startled her, and when she wanted attention I gave it to her.

Same here always indoor.
The shelter we get them from makes us sign a form saying we will never let them outside.

He's 85lbs. He plops down whenever he sits. I have bruises. It's an abusive relationship.

^ Super cute.

Here's my Yorkie. He's so cute and happy go lucky most of the time, but sometimes he's a super brat.. especially at night during bed time.

Awww he's cute too! We love ours, she is such a good dog. She doesn't tear anything up, and just naps on the couch while we are at work.

Dogs are great.

The topic of losing a dog came up in another thread. Rather than sad up someones' thread, I figured we could discuss it here.

Harley, my favorite after having dogs my entire life died in 2002, it still feels like yesterday. He had intestinal cancer, we had him opened up after he stopped eating (he ate to please me for a few days) He is buried in our backyard in Mexico.

The Chow mix was Shania, she drank antifreeze in 2001, horrible way to die.

Charlie and Fred came next (shepherd & bichon) were next.

Charley had renal failure, at 6 Fred was sick for more than 6 years and at 12 I found him in the pool filter. Gruesome.

After Charlie died we got Marley, she is 11 and doing fine.

After Feed died we got Borden, he was missing a kidney, the other was small and he got Science Kidney diet for 5 years until he got cancer in his knee.

Then we got Cardie, first puppy we have had in years. SHe is a stinker.

We have loved them all from the bottom of our hearts and miss them very much.

Damn, you've gone through some tough ones over the years. I'm sorry, but I'm sure you gave them all a great life while they were in yours.

I don't have photos of Hershey or Dublin on my phone, but I believe I've posted about them here. Hershey wandered from the house and got hit by a car a few days after Christmas in 2010. It brings me tears every time that I think his last moments on this earth were spent alone and scared. He didn't deserve that, and to this day I still wish I could've done something.

Dublin and Hershey we're inseparable, and Dublin never really was the same after that. About 9-10 months later, he started having health issues. It ended up being canine lymphoma. We had to put him down 18 months, to the day, after Hershey passed. I know he wasn't in pain, and the vet did everything they could to make sure he was comfortable, but I will never put down another dog like that. Everything seemed to clinical, too cold. It took me 6 years to get over the losses of Hershey and Dublin before I could bring myself to get another dog.

I now have a Goldendoodle - Jameson - who found me when he was 8 weeks old. He's made me remember all of the good times I've had in the past with dogs. He can be a pain in the ass sometimes (most times lol), but he's not even 2 years old yet and still very much a puppy. If something were to happen to him, healthwise, and I needed to make the incredibly difficult decision to put him down, I will be sure to do it at home, where he's comfortable. But until that day - and I really hope that day never comes - I will continue to show him how much I love him and how important he is in my life.

Dogs really are great, and we don't deserve half the love they give us.

Jameson and I, Sept 17 2017 and Sept 17 2018.

I'm partial to GSD's and always take orphans in first. This guy was "Woody" who was 3 when we got him. He was an ex K-9 Corps dog for the City of Buffalo but wasn't "aggressive enough." The LEO's wife said no K-9, no dog and he ended up at our home.

We lost him 13 years ago and got this guy, "Ziggy" (Marley) from the ASPCA when he was 7 months old, he'll be 13 in September. This is a pic taken last month

My feelings about dogs:

Absolutely love the hat.

We have a thing for our front door that says "dogs welcome" in big letters, and under it is "children must be on leash"

I remember Dublin and Hershey Morgan, still so sad. Jameson really gave you your moneys' worth!

Marley is the first big dog we have had in 20 years that made it past 6. It really stinks but she has been a great girl. She lived with Fred for 8 years and was really sad when he died. She & Borden fought alot at first until she Alpha'd his a$$. I have 16 stitches from being stupid and getting between them.

I agree Chief, I like dogs more than most people, also, I like.

Thanks guys.

I honestly relate more with dogs, the older I get.

My wife and I have a yorkie. She was 3 when my wife and I met. She just turned 10 a couple weeks ago, and still acts like a puppy. She was the runt of the litter, and my wife was told she'd be 10-15lbs. She's 4.9lbs. She's such a good dog.

And this was her, some 5 years ago. She got super sick, and got pancreatitis. Vet told us to say our goodbyes, we told the vet to f*ck off. Took her to Vet hospital at MU, they saved her life. She's on prescription dog food, filtered water and no treats. She sleeps on the couch when we are at work, and doesn't tear anything up. I wasn't really a small dog guy, until her. We'll def have another yorkie later on in life.

We have a sign by the door that says that too.

The sig and avatar explain my stance on the matter. My stories will come later.

So far he loves everything. The shelter told us he would probably hide for the first week. Nope, he is very social and confident around the dogs.

So far, an absolutely awesome cat.
