I havent measured in a while, but i want to say it is about 45 inches or so. I have a 4' fence in part of my yard, and they can stand up and put their paws over it easy. My female can vertically jump it if she wants to. Im 5'10", and if they stand all the way up they can put their paws on my shoulders. They grow pretty fast that first year, and then some more over the second, usually full grown by end of the second year. They have the best temperment of any dog ive ever seen. Basically huge babies. I walked them Sunday and my male got scared by a Dachshund my friend has that was barking at him.

Yeah they get along pretty well. They usually ignore each other unless they are fighting over bread scraps.

[QUOTE=Ken1997TL;12720696]Our dog, Ellie, on Halloween..

Awww.... We had a dog named Ellie when I was growing up. Our neighbors dog had puppies and we asked that we could have one. When we picked it we didn't know it's sex yet and called her "Elmer" When we got her and discovered he was a she, we re-named her "Ellie".

Our new doggie - rescued from B.A.R.K. She's somewhere between 7-10 months old and an absolute sweetheart. She has a few compulsive behaviors we're working through - most likely some souvenirs from a less than pleasant start in life. She was emaciated when they found her. Poor love.

Thank you! I love your dog's name - Sol sort of came about from me calling her my star. That and thinking she's an old soul.

I'm not entirely certain of her breed. I'd lay money on some Jack Russell, but she's much less frenetic than most JRT's I've known - she has a softness about her. I'm thinking possibly some Feist? She's got a long back and long legs. She's generally pretty small, though - under 20# even now that she's at a good weight. Whatever she is, she's a whole lot of awesome.

Have you posted pics of your dog here?

I like the name you picked...it's very unique.

I posted a couple of pictures a while back. Here's a recent picture via my phone:

She'll be 2 years old in April. She's around 40 pounds.

Star was the name she was given by the shelter (because of the white spot on her chest). My fiancée liked it, so we kept it.

His name is Princeton. He was rescued as an adult dog eleven years ago. For that time he has been my faithful companion, rarely leaving my side. A number of years ago my company was renamed after him (no, not his name, but I'm not what saying either). His silhouette is proudly displayed on the company vehicles and he rides in them all, from the pickups to the Peterbilts. I love him very much.

He's getting old now, sometimes needed to be lifted into the cab of the trucks. He still loves to go for rides, and loves the attention he gets from everyone. Getting a little grey around the muzzle, all the pretty girls still find him cute. When he gets too old, and can no longer accompany me as he does, that's when we shut it down and retire.

He's been a great friend, and as I see him age I'm even more appreciative of his friendship and love.
