That's a good collection. I've had a SMP for about five years and love it. Great watches and a real good value.

Trust me, it's not. Wrists swell and shrink with the temps and it was about 38 degrees when I was outside shooting those pics. Like I said, it's as much how the watch fits in the overall context of your body that matters as much as anything, not just wrist size. Given the current trend towards massive watches, the Rollie is compact by comparison.

Looking for two watches.

1. Blacked out would be nice, but it needs to be durable. None of this scratching the finish and showing the silver underneath. Not flashy. Used for daily wear but nice enough to be dressed up once in a while. Looking at Tag Forumla 1 styles, but if theres a better value out there, Im open. ~$500-600

2. Subtle mix of silver, gray and black tones. Nothing flashy. This also must be durable but nice. I want the best "value." I dont want a base BMW if I can get a loaded Infiniti, if ya know what I mean. Brand isnt set in stone. Prefer $600-700 but its for Daddy so Ill spend up to a grand.

This is for around Christmas, so I have time.

The Sinn watches are kinda

The Trasers are suite, though. Whats the target market for these? Seems like a nice watch with nice features for $300 http://www.watchmann.com/proddetail.asp?prod=P6502

I like this one too, but its too sporty

Favorite watches are the Stowa Pro-diver with silver face and silver bezel and the massive caseback option.

For dressier they also make the Stowa Antea, great Bauhaus design. I love German watches, simple, understated, and well made.

I'm trying to figure out the whole appeal of Tag watches from a design standpoint, to me the design is pretty awful, almost resembling that of a Fossil watch. I think they look cheap.

There's a bunch with rubber and SS straps in the TT1 as well as in the Williams F1.

Tag Heuer watch service?

What am I looking at $$ wise for what i am hoping is a basic service?

Here is the watch (or similar):
Tag Heuer Auto

It's going on 5-years old, was barely touched for ~1 year to 1 1/2 years, I got it a little over two years ago and wear it all the time.

It "loses" time pretty quickly and lately the adjustment knob will pop out on it's own and it's next to impossible to screw it back in.

I'm back to my Fossil for the time being

Citizen Eco-Drive... the only watch I've had in the past 10 years that didn't get fog under the crystal or fall apart after a few weeks. I love this watch.

I have a Rolex Sea-Dweller. Looks like a submariner but a little thicker, has a gas escape valve on the side and has no bubble for the date. It is just different enough that you don't really see one often. I had a kid checking me out at the grocery the other day, he told me "nice fake rolex, I can tell it's fake because it doesn't have the bubble." I said" yeah you caught me" and went on about my business.

What's especially interesting about this pic is that Panerai never made a white dialed PAM 90 power reserve. Stop posting fakes people you're just begging for ownage.

Haha... that's why I didn't say anything about it, wanted to see how long it took to notice. The Omega is real, the PAM00090 was a $110 China purchase. It's also got the see thru back which is another giveaway. Other than that's it's not a bad auto for $100 bucks! They had black one's but I wanted white, since I just wear it around work and no one can tell the difference. I'll get a Panerai one day, but can't sink that much in one right now with a one year old at home.

Haha it's not bad looking actually I bought a used panerai from someone online a while back and you basically have to become an expert in spotting fakes in order to be sure you aren't getting ripped off. You're the second person I've called out here for posting pic's of their fake Panny but the first to come right out and own up to it

No. I would never buy a high-end watch online. You basically give up any warranty. Most are gray market. If it seems to good to be true....

Best place to purchase high-end watches is in the Carribbean. I've purchased my Omega Seamaster in St Thomas and Oris F1 chrono in Grand Cayman and saved a bunch of $$$.

Hmm, Maybe time to plan a trip to GC.

On a side note, it's amazing how much prices of watches have gone up. My dad bought me my Sea-Dweller in 1997 when I graduated from college. Suggested retail was $3600, he paid $3000 plus tax. Suggested retail is now $6250 I think.

Used is really the way to go, especially for higher end watches. You can find mint condition used watches for 50-60% off on the watch forums.

Or just use this:

Another way is apparently via the duty-free boutiques if you travel internationally...for instance, I recall that watches were up to $500 less at Narita International Airport than they were retailing for back home.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong of course...

Dont really wear my Tag anymore, looking to get rid of it. Sent off to Tag for complete overhaul that cost me close to $400. Have all boxes and books, bought new for $1400.

Asking $700 shipped or local to Milwaukee, WI.

This is identical to mine, I just dont have pics here at work....

My current watch is the following, daily watch!
