The baby tuna has been a fine daily driver so far
It's a lunk! but super comfortable.

I have some minor quality gripes regarding the bezel double click mechanism and hour markers, but for the price, you're getting a great watch.
I'm not sure it's appealing outside of diver fans or the dive community in general.

But I love it.
I've received a half dozen unsolicited compliments on it as well.

Awesome, Maj.

For the unfamliar, the Baby Tuna does stand out. You need to save up for the true Tuna though...get it with the hi-beat from the Grand Seikos!

For sure now that this tuna has treated me well. I'm not sure if I'll go hi-beat or spring drive. Still undecided.

Glad to find a Seiko fan.

It's definitely an unappreciated watch brand...

Not by me.. I've always been a fan.
I'm sure if you look at my early posts in this thread I probably suggest all types of Seikos.

I even geeked out when I first heard you were considering a GS.

I'm partial to anything Japanese TBH...probably explains my unreasonable need to hoard gokin toys from there. You see Hodinkee's sales-pitch-ish look at 5 GS watches recently...?

Some "purist" don't like the spring drive power reserve "eye"
I feel indifferent. I both appreciate it, and appreciate the clean face look as well.

generally speaking, I love the craftsmanship of Grand Seikos. I dislike the overly heavy looking watch crowns they use enough to dissuade me from buying one.

Yeah, that may take getting used to if you have a particular look you prefer. I assume you've tried GS pieces on before, Chef...?

Or through the majik of photoshop! lol. Between reflections, glare and lint/dust, makes me really respect pro product photographers.

Wow maybe I should have held onto my automatic a few more years. $2000 is insane for a quartz Seamaster.

Well, that's about how much I paid for that very same piece in your link. So, it's retained it's value. That being said, not all quartz movements are made equal (case in point: Seiko quartz movements are pretty damn cool). So, I would say Omega's are worthy of their value too.

Well, that settles it...

I'd been saving up for a Moonwatch, but got word a 50th anniversary edition was coming out and I'd been silently considering if I'd bite the bullet and go all in for the 50th now vs wait until I could afford a regular one. And after getting a load of that... Well... I'm going to go ahead and keep saving up.

That looks way too over the top, Boca Raton, Corvette, white belt and chest hair poking out for this guy.

Dang - the site won't even tell you how much it is. Just, "contact a boutique to get a price". Which pretty much watch-maker-speak for "if you have to ask, you can't afford it".

Beautiful piece however.

Personally, not a huge fan of gold. I do like the bezel color though, but make it in silver/stainless/white gold/something else.

I really liked that Hirsch band a page or two back, so I picked up one for my Swiss Army watch. It's a basic quartz, but has more sentimental value than anything - it was a gift from my parents back in 1988 or so for my first "adult" watch half way through college. I wore out the original canvas band, and had replaced it with a brown one (nothing special) but it was far too narrow. I thought the black/red combo of the Hirsch would look nice on it. I'm very pleased with the band - it's very comfortable, quality is excellent and in spite of shipping from the UK still arrived in 7 days standard free shipping. Here's the band, and the result.

I'm really pleased with it. I think the splash of red will make it a little different, I can see a lot of casual uses for it.
