AZNDOOD, don't buy that PO, spend another $1000 and get the Titanium version, it is infinitely nicer: 232.92.46.51.03.001 Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono Mens Big Size Blue Dial Watch

That is exactly what happened, part that bothers me most is everyone I spoke to was surly, had the attitude I was an idiot that couldn't or did not read the availability correctly etc.

The oddest thing (nothing to do with Joma) is he said it was too big & heavy and did not want it. He wanted my Aquaracer I was wearing. It was 1700 or so 4+ years ago so I gave it to him.

Gotta love Parents.

Really like seeing all the fibers in the face. Think it gives the watch face a great texture.

While not as exciting as a good automatic, I got a MVMT watch for Christmas and picked up another.
These watches look great IMO and can't beat the price.

I'm not typically a big Tag fan, but that one looks great! I did try on an 1887 a year or so ago and thought it was quite nice. However, I'd have a hard time spending anywhere near the $12,000 retail for anything with Tag Heuer's name on it (https://www.tagheuer.com/en-us/news/...ix-chronograph).

I just did a quick search on Chrono24 and there is a new one listed for $7,800 (TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Automatic Chronograph Carbon for $7,800 for sale from a Trusted Seller on Chrono24) with some pictures of the case/caseback.

NICE! The jury is out on the bullhead configuration but the materials used on this piece to me are striking. 03SilverTypeS-you wouldn't spend that kind of coin (a bit more) on a TAG Tourbillon?

Honestly, I'm not too crazy about the Tag Tourbillon. I definitely give them credit, but the execution of the watch itself just doesn't do it for me. If I had the $15k to spend, I'd probably pick up the Zenith Captain Blue Primero (below), a Rolex Polar Explorer II (16750), and a Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso (below).

I'm no expert on Tag watches by any means, but I checked Chrono24 to use as a reference and came across this listing: TAG Heuer Aquaracer Caf2112 Chronograph Automatic Men's... for $2,000 for sale from a Trusted Seller on Chrono24

Comparing the two sets of pictures, it looks like the serial number should be located below the engraving on case back under the model number (CAF2112). The one in your pictures looks a little more worn on the case back, but after comparing them side by side it looks real to me. I can't vouch for the movement, but it does look like the ETA 7750 (Tag Calibre 16) that should be in the watch.

The fact that it's missing a serial number tells me that it's either REALLY worn down on that one particular side of the case back some reason (could be a legitimate reason) or that it's possibly stolen and someone removed the serial number. There may be more to the story, but if this is something you're looking to purchase (or purchased already) I would definitely as the seller more questions regarding the serial number/case back.

I'm also assuming that you took the pictures. If they are pictures from an ad, the seller may have digitally removed the serial number.

Thanks, I got it today from eBay, it replaced my Aquaracer my Dad took. I assumed in his pics he removed it but now that it's here it is what it is. I am going to the Apple store Monday, it's near a tag AD I need to replace the crystal on another one so will ask them.

Thanks

Absolutely gorgeous! Since I pretty much wear my Breitling every day, I'm sure the Grande Reverso would feel similar from a size perspective. I had to search for some of the specs, but the case size looks to be fairly comparable, I'm sure the JLC is much lighter than the Breitling though. Maybe some day I'll get my hands on one.

Breitling A17390
Diameter: 44 x 52.5 mm
Thickness: 16.1mm
Lug Width: 22 mm
Weight: 122.5g

JLC 976
Diameter: 48.5 x 30 mm
Thickness: 10 mm
Lug Width: 19 mm

In case anyone has been paying attention to H. Moser & Cie vs the "Swiss Made" label, H. Moser & Cie announced their new 100% Swiss made watch. The case is made of Swiss cheese combined with resin and features their in house HMC 327 movement. The Youtube link is their ad for the watch which is pretty entertaining and the other link is Hodinkee's take on the watch.

I love that they're not taking themselves too seriously, but behind all the jokes is a seriously well finished movement.

Well Chief, you were exactly right! It was about $17 for the stem and crown, plus $27 for labor and the pressure test. Unfortunately, when they opened it up to look inside, they found the movement had rust at the 3:00 position... Where the crown/stem had rusted. Evidently it had been a problem for a while. Cost me about $100 for a new movement and they replaced the "well used" mineral crystal with sapphire for $50. All in, it was $218, which is a bit more that I'd have liked to spend, but not terrible all things considered.

It did however make me reconsider wearing it all the time. So I went and bought a beater watch to take to the beach, or skateboarding, or whatever. Timex Weekender with genuine Philippines movement!

I actually really like the simple, clean design. The green is totally offensive, and it was $20. Perfect!

Picked up this UN Marine Chronometer. Was looking for a blue watch, but but something a little off the beaten path (as opposed to the Daytona and the Aquanaut).

That is different but I really like the design. Is a perfect shade of blue as well. Not to dark or light.

Can't remember if it was in this thread, or a Facebook group, but someone recommended ABP Paris for custom straps. I purchased a few custom Camille Fournet's, but they were not completely customizable (I still had to use a 3rd party tang buckle, which always bothered me). ABP has the same leather and stitching quality as Camille Fournet, but I was happy to find that they offer even more custom options as CF. My biggest issue was that CF didn't make a strap that worked with the OEM Patek deployment buckle. ABP was able to make one for me, and also one with a curved lug end so It would keep the same integrated look as the OEM rubber strap.

I definitely recommend ABP if you're looking for a high quality, customized rubber strap.

If you ever wondered how many high-end watch stores there are here, wonder no more. Use the drop-down menu for "boutiques" and click away to see.

Interesting. Maybe Detroit is now the next Geneva. GM vs. Ford. Detroit Watch Co vs. Shinola???

It's a good look, I see a little Lange and IWC influence. based on their website info chrono's are 7750 based, which is a pretty solid swiss chrono movement. I can see a few shortcuts to keep the costs down, mainly the printed dial. For 2K though, you're getting what IWC and Panerai charge 6-7k for.

Not just the placement, but the Grande Date was an awesome look, they should have kept it.
