They have the exclusive rights. If UT/AUTOArt or Kyosho got one of these I would pick one in a heartbeat.

BTW, should we have a sticky 1/18 diecast collection thread?

This is an automobile forum after all...

That'd be [email protected]$$...

Before I devoted my entire hobby budget for robots, I used to buy 1/18s by Kyosho and AutoArt religiously...

Mind you, I still do pick up the odd one here and there...Newest scores (from a couple months back): CTS-V SCCA World Challenge GT 2004 PILGRIM #8 and the Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R JGTC 2002 "CALSONIC" #12...

Both gifts from the [email protected]$$ woman too. And people wonder why I'm keeping her.

Naw...not that much, dude. The 1/18 AutoArts are usually around $100 tops. And usually, at the places that sell 'em, you can probably talk the shopkeeper out of the GST...

And oh, I totally forgot the gem that's sitting on my office desk right now, a white AutoArt Toyota 2000GT coupe...

True, but that DB9R is quite rare. EBay will be your only choice if you can get one locally.(That is usually the case here in TO.)

Well, it's too bad that AutoArt can't produce Ferrari stuff...but, they still have nearly everyone else...Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Bugatti (yes, the Veyron...which I actually passed up for to score the CTS-V), Porsche...

Can't go wrong with AutoArt...good quality and overall value for $$$...

AutoArt makes some great stuff for the price. I bought my bro-in-law a diecast R34 model. I wanted to keep it for myself but I didn't.

But in the future I'll be able to get that stuff ch.. ** cough **

The last one I bought was a black AUTOArt Carrera GT. The best of my small collection so far.

NICE.

I promise to have pics taken when I move by next week (July 4-5)...that's when I'll have all my boxes out of storage and into my basement--where I can take pics.

I just got my NXT Robotics sets and nearly all of them have boxes that are damaged.

I'm so ticked. Simply because this is like the 7 shipment I've received from LEGO that's damaged. I've written them emails, I've even called and talked to reps informing them of their poor quality of packaging and the fact that I've received sooooo many damaged goods should be an indicator that SOMETHING IS WRONG!

They don't place any protective padding, they only use some brown tissue paper to hold the contents in the box.

Nearly all of the packages I've received have had damaged exterior boxes, damaged interior goods (holes, bad creases, tears) etc.

UGH! it's getting so annoying now.

Guess I'm returning these and getting replacements. Yet again they are eating the costs of shipping.

I actually know this guy (Well I've talked through e-mails and on the phone once). He is actually one of the coolest people that I have ever met through the internet. He owns an autobody shop and does Lego cars as a hobby and then sells them. I've seen one of his cars sell for over $1000.00! He actually is selling one on Ebay right now.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Lego-Tech...QQcmdZViewItem

The skills involved in some of his cars is mind blowing. His 6 speed transmissions are SICK! And they actually work, plus they have a reverse gear. The standard Lego ones in the 8448 sets and 8466 sets are only 5 speeds.

I wouldn't even know where to start to try and build something like that. And that new yellow car that he did is the badest technic model that I have ever seen.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=165358

I know that he is friends with one of Lego's designers(Nathanael Kuipers, the guy who did that new 1:8 scale Ferrari F1) I would love to see him get a job with Lego and put out some of his work. I'd buy that stuff in a second.

Oh yeah, and he is married, so I wouldn't do the whole "Virgin" thing.

I'll have to hit him with an e-mail and get him to join up here, I know that he customizes cars(Real cars).

Using Legos around the house

Check this out.

That is pretty slick. It looks like the speaker is floating. I wonder if Chris Angel works with Legos...

Went to the LEGO store today at the Mills. They were having a pretty good sale.

I picked up 3 of these for $100 bucks each!!!! Marked down $50 each!

And on top of that I had $70 bucks in Gift cards so I actually only paid $230+tax for 3.

Thanx, I'll take more pics the next time I go. I snapped off as many as I could.

The ships were sweet. Some of the smaller ones were simply boats that had a lego body on top of it, but comuter controlled plastic frame underneath. If they wanted to they could probably make a real fully lego built boat that floats that would be awesome!

if you think these boats are big look at this:
