I was reading the newspaper today and a little blurb in it said Lego is cutting over 1000 jobs (I think that was the number) to cut costs etc. They have been losing share to electronic games etc the article continued. Thought you hardcore Lego ppl should know.

The Namco-Bandai Group is making big bucks right now. Job cuttings won't happen anytime soon.

My only concern is that the smaller manufacturers like Aoshima, Max Factory, and Yamato can continue to survive...

For a while Lego was making an airplane model series.

I have the Wright Flyer and the Sopwith Camel.

I too wish they made a Jet series with the blackbird, f-15, f-16, f-22, 747.

I doubt they would though because those are considered weopons which goes against LEGOs image. It was hard enough for them to work with Lucas to get the Star Wars line.

I was in Target the other day and was going to pick up a couple sets. I decided against it because I'd have no place to put completed deals

Dude, a couple years from now, you are going to regret that you didn't buy it.

Just cuz you buy it doesn't mean you have to build it now. get it now, store it, and enjoy it later. Because once they stop making them, the only way to get them is pay an arm and a leg for them on eBay.

That's what I'm doing with a lot of the sets. In fact because I lapsed for so many years I started buying the sets that I didn't buy and it's getting $$$$$

Trust me, buy now, build later, that way you don't miss out.

And in addition, one thing a lot of people do, especially the guys, they buy a couple sets, and save one for when they have kids. I started doing that too. Because when I have kids, some of these awesome sets aren't going to be around.

As soon as my wife and I get our own place, that's when I may start building my sets. right now I've only built some of the smaller ones.

But I'm dying to build my 3000+ peice Star Wars Destroyer

This is one of the rare ones that has nearly double the # of pieces compared to the small ones they make.

Unlike the previous Ferrari F1 Racer that only had 719 peices this one has 1246!

I now own 1 MNIB MP-1 and another one that is in used condition I bought for display purposes. I would have never even known about them unless I had heard about them from
