I wish I could find some instructions on to build an F-14 Tomcat like that. I'm obssessed with them.

^^ Large mosaics of this size are the ones I'm hoping to make. I'm currently only hindered financially because of the cost of those damn plastic bricks.

I can't wait to get started on my first sculpture ...

The .ldr extension is for the LDraw program.

You can download the ldraw program for free, takes about 5-10 minutes to install and use the MLCad Program to open up the .ldr files.

The install may seem rather long when you see the instructions, but when you get it installed, you're gonna love the MLCad program it's phreakin awesome!

Do you know where to buy the parts?

www.bricklink.com

there are thousands of stores on that website.

I've ordered a lot from VisVires. They are really really good about taking care of their customers.

If you order from them, tell them Anil sent ya. (I don't get any commission, but I like to help them when I can)

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Now my wife is going to divorce me and take half my money. Now I won't be able to afford the pieces of Lego that I need to build this F-14 Tomcat because of YOU! Then because I can't have the Lego F-14 Tomcat I'm going to whither away into nothing and die. Then my wife will sell my Legos and I'll be in hell shooting pool with her mother!

Give her some quality time for a week or two. Then you won't have anything to worry about for a little while.

Here's some info about the crane and rig above...

VOLVO FH16.520 8x4

This truck is a Volvo FH16 8x4 of a company called 'Van Wieren' in
the Netherlands. The truck is on scale 1:13. It has two steered
axles, a driven boogie, tilted driver's cab and the grill can be
opened to check the oil every morning. Just like the real one this
Volvo has an 6-cylinder in line engine with all details.

The Nooteboom lowloader is also built from LEGOs. It has a goose
neck, a floor and four steered axles. The goose neck can be separated
from the floor with pneumatics.

It's length is about 1.8 meter and the truck is loaded with a
Sennebogen crawler crane. The crane is typed as '640'. The crane is
motorized and can swing with the help of two 4.5V LEGO-motors. The
boom can move with a 9V motor and the hoist installation is supplied
with a 4.5V motor. The door of the operator's cab can be opened and
is supplied with a seat, and all stuff you can find over there.

The machine has four doors which can all be opened for e.g. repairs.
From there you can see the Caterpillar engine. The boom length is
1.4 metres and is hauled separated from the basic machine.
I needed about 250 hours to build it. This model content about 9,000
pieces.

Someone made an Airwolf. Doesn't look that great, but you gotta give them credit for trying.

There are instructions on how to build it too.

If someone builds the SDF-1 out of Lego....BEWARE!!!!!!!!
The Zentradi will eventually show up to "retrieve" it.

Yea, those are probably made in LDraw, which means that they have the instructions to actually build it.

I'll just have to keep my eyes open for it.

When you build the B1, do you have to stop midway through, and wait years to complete it?
You know to make it more realistic (ala the Carter administration)

It's completely free! Unfortunately it's not monthly.

It's an online publication.

You can get them here:

http://www.lugnet.com/~1495/brickjournal

There are a total of 4 issues at the moment. I really don't know how often they come out. But there is a maling list you can sign up for to receive announcements about it.
