My daughter went on a play date and played with the Friends Grand Hotel. Now she is obsessed with it.

Apparently, it's a few years old, so not available from LEGO.

Amazon price gouging $300! Is there anywhere else that sells it for a reasonable amount? Otherwise, she'll getting the hospital set.

Bricklink.com. They sell complete sets and pieces. Just make sure to filter your results for USA only.

Hey, Lego nerds, quick question...

Is there any value in old set boxes and instructions? My folks dumped a bunch of old childhood crap off on me the last time they visited, and part of it is all the old boxes and instruction books from my old late-70s, early-80s Lego kits.

All are open, obviously, and some are in better shape than others... But is there a market for them or is the recycling bin the best/obvious place to keep them?

You can sell them on Bricklink as well. Avoid eBay as they are riddled with fees.

I've got a mishmash of stuff for my girls. Everything from the two programmable robots to DC Superhero Girls. We have all the DCSG sets, so very upset they discontinued the series.

From pg 3...

https://www.motor1.com/news/290347/l...ons-senna-f40/

With the year coming to an end, that only means one thing: An all-new batch of Lego Speed Champions sets for 2019. Car and Lego enthusiasts should be excited about the new additions to the popular brick-building series. Classic to new, domestic or import, the new lineup for 2019 will definitely get your piston-pumping heart revving sky high. Let’s take a look at the new vehicles set to drop in the near future shall we?

McLaren Senna

For the past few years, McLaren and Lego have teamed up to come out with Lego sets of the supercars made by the British car manufacturer. With the recent release of the almighty Senna, it’s only right a much more attainable version be slated to come out for 2019. It’ll be much easier on the wallet since the real one costs close to one million dollars.

Ferrari F40 Competizione

Lego will finally release the F40 Competizione, perhaps the most iconic Ferrari of all time. Only 10 were produced in real life, making this particular model extremely rare. The 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 makes 691 horsepower and Ferrari said it had a top speed of nearly 230 mph. This is definitely one set you need to have if you’re a fan of the legendary F40. Extra parts come with the set so you can convert the Competizione back to the standard road-going version as well.

2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and 1970 Dodge Charger R/T

Switching over from supercars, Lego will give muscle car fans some love with the release of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. Both beastly machines will come with functional Christmas Tree drag lights. That way you and a friend can duke it out on the quarter-mile. It’s a classic battle between new school and old school.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Race Car

A Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Race Car has also been added to the brick-building mix. This set comes with a racing driver figure, adjustable roll cage, and removable windshield.

1967 Mini Cooper S Rally and 2018 MINI John Cooper Works Buggy

Last but not least, the 1967 Mini Cooper S Rally and 2018 MINI John Cooper Works Buggy set comes with everything you need to stage the ultimate classic-versus-modern Mini rally race. The ’67 Cooper comes with a roof rack and two spare tires just like the real deal back in the day. Actual working suspension is included with the 2018 Cooper Works Buggy.

2019 Lego Speed Champions sets will be available to order in January.

I like the McLaren Senna and the Mini set. Not excited with the others at all. The F40 looks bad, as it has too many studs on the car compared to typical Speed Champions.

I finally got a box with a mistake brick in it. My new LEGO Friends Emma Bedroom set has the wrong upper body part for Emma. Rather than a blouse, the part is for the racing suit from the go-kart set.

Has anyone else ever experienced getting a wrong part?

Go their site or call customer service. Give the right part number from the back of the directions and they'll send it to you free of charge.

Yup, did that. Supposed to take up to 2 weeks. I didn't even realize the problem, but my daughter saw it immediately.

It’ll come faster. My mom had gotten a Harry Potter set that had missing pieces and she broke a hand on a mini fig. Parts came in a week or less.

Yeah, their replacement brick service is amazing. The Batman Tumbler I finally put together had the wrong shell piece and they shipped it out quickly for free. No questions asked.

I wonder how many one off pieces the Bugatti has. Looks to be a decent number, at least on the exterior.

I better not end up buying this

No sir. While the colors of the exterior pieces may be different (blue), they are on other prior-released Technic sets.

In what has become a bit of a tradition, my wife gets me some huge ass Lego set to work on over the winter since I can't do any of my other things. Last year was the Saturn V rocket, this year she got me the Technic bucket line excavator. So far only went through the first bag and all I built was the little truck lol. Probably another 3200 pieces to go...

Looks huge.

I've got my eye on the Saturn V. Really want the shuttle set as well, but out of production & $$$ online.

Yup, I really wanted the space shuttle too but could never find it. The one I really wanted was the super star destroyer.

I've seen a few on Amazon/Ebay, but they're in the $3-400 range

Ours got a Friends pet hospital & person hospital. Pretty good sized sets & she actually did a lot of the work assembling, wife helped her this time, so I don't know exactly which ones...

My littlest daughter did the Friends person hospital on Christmas afternoon. She did it quite fast all by herself. After she went to bed, her big sister went back and fixed the mistakes. There weren't alot of mistakes, but enough to make it wobble.
