Nice. I would like a revolver next, of course after I pick up another Glock and finish this build off.

We're semi close to each other, buy the lower and parts kit and we'll have a build day! We'll kick back some beers but we'll have to leave the uppers where we can't play with them, since for some reason it's a bad idea to mix alcohol and firearms

Just wanted to let you guys know that our rights here in the peoples republic of Kalifornia are under attack again. This time, their planning on banning all ammo sales over the internet. You will also need to register so that buying ammo would be like purchasing a firearm...unreal...

Details:

Quote:
Yesterday, Tuesday, April 8, Assembly Bill 2062 was passed by the Assembly Public Safety Committee. Assembly Member Greg Aghazarian (R-26) objected, noting that AB2062 violates Joint Rule 54 (c) which prohibits a legislator from authoring a bill that is substantially the same as a bill that he or she previously authored in the same two-year session. Assembly Member Aghazarian moved to refer AB2062 to the Assembly Rules Committee for a formal determination of its fate.

Sponsored by State Assembly Member Kevin De Leon (D-45), AB2062 would require that law-abiding gun owners obtain a permit to buy handgun ammunition and would impose severe restrictions on the private transfers of handgun ammunition. Applicants for a "permit-to-purchase" would be required to submit to a background check, pay a $35 fee, and wait as long as 30 days to receive the permit.

Under AB2062, it would be unlawful to privately transfer more than 50 rounds of ammunition per month, even between family and friends, unless you are registered as a "handgun ammunition vendor" in the Department of Justice's database. Ammunition retailers would have to be licensed and store ammunition in such a manner that it would be inaccessible to purchasers. The bill would also require vendors to keep a record of the transaction including the ammunition buyer's name, driver's license, the quantity, caliber and type of ammunition purchased, and right thumbprint, which would be submitted to the Department of Justice. Vendors would be required to contact the purchase permit database, to verify the validity of a permit before completing a sale. All ammunition sales in the State of California would be subject to a $3 per transaction tax. Lastly, mail order ammunition sales would be prohibited. Any violator of AB2062 would be subject to civil fines.

Please contact the members of the Assembly Rules Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to support Assembly Member Aghazarian's motion to refer AB2062 because it violates Joint Rule 54 (c). Also, please continue contacting your State Assembly Member and respectfully urge them to oppose this onerous attack on our rights. Please click here to find contact information for your State Assembly Member.

Has Kalifornia banned fire-wood and non fluoridated toothpaste yet, too? WTF?

Somebody needs to mobilize the gun-loving vote in that state...

And hand out bacon samiches to them!

Its like Chris Rock joke is coming true.

"They don't have to ban guns, just make bullets $5000" The whole thing was pretty funny....

This is not.

How is that gun? I found a site where they are selling used ones for like $259. I want to pick one up for a range gun.

Don't forget about this crock of shit, too:
Quote:
On Tuesday, April 15, the Assembly Public Safety Committee will consider Assembly Bill 2235, a bill to forbid the sale of handguns other than "owner-authorized (or "smart") handguns" -- that is, handguns with a permanent, programmable biometric feature that renders the firearm useless unless activated by the authorized user. No proven, viable handgun of this type has ever been developed.

Introduced by Assemblyman Mark DeSaulnier (D-11), AB2235 would require the Attorney General to report to the Governor and Legislature on the availability of owner-authorized handguns; once the Attorney General finds that these guns are available, only "owner-authorized" handguns could be approved for sale in California.

The law enforcement community has even expressed concerns about the use of this technology in firearms. How often has your computer malfunctioned while simply sitting stationary on your desktop? With that in mind, are you willing to put your personal safety, and that of your loved ones, in the hands of a sensitive computer system exposed to recoil, heat, solvents, dirt and grime?

It seems that our assembly is more busy dealing with worthless bills than fixing our falling-apart school system. My buddy's parents are getting laid-off after 30 years working in the school district with a reduced pension than if they would have retired 2 years ago. Bullshit.

Guess I might as well jump in this thread. Went to my first gun show, bought my first gun, AND joined the NRA, all this past Saturday! Before I went I had narrowed it down to either a S&W 686 or a Glock 26. Walked out of the show with a Glock 19
