P-09 fuckkks.. I love it.
Here are some targets from this weekend

25 yards with 115gr Blazer
I got a little loose after shooting into the void.
I couldn't see shit because of the big black silhouette

Here's 10 yards with 115gr Blazer
Double Tap.. surgical.

Also 10 yards with last bit of Blazer and 115gr Geco I had with me.
Got a little sloppy with the Blazer to start the mouth, but cleaned shop with the Geco.
I'm no Hickok, but Halloween time.. time to carve

Anyone into archery? Have tossed the idea around for a while to get a bow, and have a couple archery ranges near me.

I have bows in storage. I used to go archery hunting with my father but it's been two decades now.
I've really been meaning to get back into it.

I suggest getting both a compound and recurve for target, but don't getting anything over 50 lbs draw weight on the compound.
My father's bow is over 70 lbs and while it's not terribly difficult to draw with, it's overkill.
50 lbs draw with proper arrow will do the job for most game.
For target, doesn't matter.

btw.. Archery hunting was mostly us in the woods bullshitting with a bunch of crazy guys.
We hardly got anything but a few squirrels the guys would shoot at in the trees.
Unless it was turkey season.

It's truly a challenge if you're not baiting game.
My buddy did tag a whitetail last season. His arrow did as much damage as 00 buck.
They can be super nasty

Definitely looking for target shooting & thinking about a takedown recurve, planning on swinging by the archery shop by Carter's Country on Treashwig (for those Houston-familiar) after work to browse.
I've got a .270 for hunting

I met a guy who worked for Vortex
He said Vortex is a great American company that really treats their employees well

I was glad to hear that and proud to own their product.
I'll definitely be on the lookout for nicer glass from them.

He told me their turnaround time is the fastest, like a week
and you don't need to prove purchase
you can find their optic on the side of the road
they'll service / replace for free

I've got a Strikefire II on my AR. Pretty happy with it & my only 'complaint' is that I have to remove it to case the rifle (with the included mount, not sure if another mount would have the same issue).
